Remarks :

The admission process starts with an all-India entrance. For applying for the courses students have to attend the exam first and notification about it can be found on the university's official website. After the declaration of the entrance results, qualified candidates can reserve their seats in the concerned departments.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I selected the course based on my area of interest and the department was one of the best in the university. All the faculty members were we'll qualify and some of them had higher degrees from European Universities. And most importantly the teaching methods were interesting we had debates, discussions seminars, etc. Then each semester, we had special seminars and conferences conducted by the department and in those seminars, we had paper presentations and discussions and eminent personalities from different universities participated in thistheseinars. And even students also got opportunities to present their papers on relevant topics. Then talking about exams we had four-semester exams and in between each semester, we had periodic tests also. Exams were a little bit difficult we should prepare for them very hard. And we had students from Tamil medium as well so for them writing exams in the English language was a little bit difficult.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

When talking about the fee structure I felt quite dissatisfied because it was quite high compared to other central universities at that time. Then discussing the opportunities of getting scholarships students belonging to the Pondicherry area had special facilities to get it and students belonging to sc /St also had province for that. Then the 10 students who got high marks in the semester exams also got a stipend.

Campus Life :

We used to have a great annual cultural fest at the university and probably it will be conducted in the last month of the academic year. It was conducted normally at end of March. Then each department used to conduct its festive programs. Then we had the annual sports meet also so in that we had university cricket matches and football matches. Then the performing department of the University used to conduct different activities throughout the year and we had a film fest also conducted by them. In that, we had seen international and national famous movies. Then about the social activities of the students, we had political party groups who had actively participated in the social issues of the students.

Hostel Facilities :

The hostel facility provided by the university was quite good. We had hot water and good drinking water facilities in the hostel and rooms were also spacious and neat and toilet facilities were also good and we had people for cleaning it regularly. In the rooms, we had cupboards for keeping our items and study tables also then enough coats were also provided. But when we discuss the food provided in the hostel mess it was not good enough. We had a good menu and it included both south Indian and North Indian dishes but the taste and quality of the food were medium. The registration process for the hostel starts before the 1st semester and third semester and it was affordable also. Only the latecomers had issues related to getting a hostel. I was accommodated in the Ganga and Kaveri hostels in the first year and second years respectively.
