Experience at dept of mathematics

Remarks :

Had to clear the DUET entrance exam which is common for all the colleges at DU for post-graduation. After that sat for a personal interview round which was specifically for St. Stephen's College. The interview had basic questions related to the subject. Then a shortlisted candidate list of 10 students was out.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I would say the course curriculum is not that light, it requires to be taken seriously throughout. Had done BSc in mathematics so automatically reflex was to pursue a master's in the same subject, that's why opted for it in the first place. But later realized we can do a lot more things with the same course apart from carrying on a Ph.D.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee structure is a bit heftier than other DU colleges, it's around 80,000 for a 2-year course while it's half of it for other colleges. But anyway St. Stephen carries its own name and reputation, so it's definitely worth the cost.

Campus Life :

Life on the campus is nice and fun and that too enhances if you make a good couple of friends out there. Being on a huge campus, you get to meet people from different regions and experience new things. The library is resourceful.

Interview Experience :

An MCQ DUET test was conducted for all the DU colleges, later a specific interview round was conducted by St. Stephens related to subject knowledge, then a shortlisted list was out based on the interview and diet scores, of 10 students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because I had done BSc hons from the same college in Mathematics. The approximate ratio of student-faculty is 20:1. All the faculties are Ph.D. But the curriculum and teaching method are traditional. Exams were conducted on time.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose the MSC physics course because I want to pursue it and go for research in physics. And jnu is one of the leading universities in India for both sciences and language courses. Faculty to student ratio is also good. They select only 40 students for the course. The faculties are top quality and they teach the topics in a very easy way and are the top researchers in their field and published many books. As our sem started out late so to manage according to the academic calendar semester duration was reduced to 2.5 months with one mid-sem and end-sem examination. It is not easy to score in the exams as faculties set a tough paper.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because I want to be a scientist and Jawaharlal Nehru university is one of the best platforms for that. The faculty is awesome, the professor did postdoctoral in their field. The teaching method is awesome because they connect abstract things by day to day life. The exam is not tough if you are disciplined with your syllabus

Course Curriculum Overview:

There are basically two examinations held every semester. Mid-term examination and end-semester examination. There are 4 semesters in total for this course. The level is up to the subjects. Some are difficult while some are moderate.

Placement Experience:

In Btech 4th year students and in MSC 2nd year students are eligible for placement. Every year 60 to 70 companies visit the college and up to 75% of students get the placement I m going to take the placement after completing my degree here

Placement Experience:

In the last and second last semesters of the course, we can apply for placements at our college. The placement system is not satisfactory though. The percentage of students getting placed is low because this is research-based college

Placement Experience:

A lot of companies visit dtu campus for placements and students are eligible to sit for it in their final or pre-final semester of the course. Companies like Akash byju, Chegg, havells, Zigram, physics wallah have visited the campus for placements for various posts like research assistant, business analyst, project manager, and subject matter expert, etc. The highest package was around 15Lpa for the post of data scientist and average packages were more than 4lpa for the profiles like research assistant and subject matter expert. The placement ratio is not that bad as in my class 15-20 out of 55 got placed with decent salary packages. If you are really good with your subject knowledge and skilled enough, it is not that hard to get placed in dtu. As I have mentioned earlier I want to join FSSAI as a junior food analyst. FSSAI is my dream workplace and hopefully, I'm on my way to getting there probably soon.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because I have a keen interest in maths. Faculty: student is 1:35. All the faculty members are well qualified and their teaching method varies individually. Some are very good at teaching while there is some average also. Term exams are conducted in 4 months and are not so difficult to pass.
