The Pro's and Cons of mechatronics at Acharya Institute of Technology

Remarks :

They treat us very well during the admission process, they provide us with information about the course and the fee structure, and how the fee is split for various fields. Except that we have to pay 180000 rupees for the college fees. This procedure happened for the mechatronics branch. I don't know how much they charge for other branches.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose the mechatronics course because it is one of the interesting branches which is a combination of mechanical and electronics. This branch is mainly related to robotics. It felt quite interesting to me. Faculties are good enough, they respond very well and help the students regarding any doubt. Most of the faculty completed their master's in their respective fields and many of them completed their Ph.D. program. Faculty use projectors to teach the students, so there is no issue with the teaching. The term exam comes once in six months it is conducted by the respective university, and we can pass easily if we study the subject thoroughly.

Internships Opportunities :

The internship is mandatory for every student in their 7th semester. The college won't provide us with any opportunity. We students have to search for companies and take permission. The only thing college does is, provide a recommendation letter for whichever the student asks. We need to give that recommendation letter to the company where we are joining.

Placement Experience :

Students are eligible to attend the placements activity when they are promoted to final year. Many companies provide us the opportunities to attend their placement. Infosys, TCS, Cognizant, and Capgemini are frequently visiting companies. Only 10-15 students out of 60 got placed in our batch. The highest package offered in our batch was 6 LPA. In our batch, not even 1/4th of the students were placed in 2022. My plan was to get a job to do work for several years and get into the business in which I'm interested.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Usually, they give us concessions in fees as a scholarship during first-year admission, from the second year onwards there won't be any concessions. They also offer us to pay our fee in easy EMI. It cost me around eight lakhs to complete the whole course. I got a scholarship from govt of Karnataka every year during the course. I didn't get any scholarship from the college side except the fee concession during first-year admission. I was not placed on campus but there good opportunity if you prepare well before. There are students who are placed on on-campus recruitment. The average package offered is 3.6 LPA to 4.8 LPA.

Campus Life :

Acharya is well known for its campus. The campus is located on the outskirts of the city, so it is very calm and peaceful. The infrastructure is very attractive and futuristic Acharya Habba is the fest that happens annually, it happens in the month of march. The fest happens for three days. The small events happen for the whole month of February and march. The library is so huge, spacious, and well-maintained, students can find books related to their courses. Every classroom has projectors and well-designed benches for students. Acharya also provide a great opportunity for students who are interested in sports, they have sports club and different areas segregated for the respective sports. The Acharya premiere league happens every year during the Acharya Habba.

Some companies which visit include Infosys, Intel, hp, Cisco, etc. The highest package will be 40 to 50 LPA each year and the average package is around 9lpa. In CSE the placements are almost 100% but considering all branches it's around 80%. I am planning to do a job after my degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I wanted to be an engineer that's why I chose this course. Student 21 and teachers 12 it's the ratio. Teachers are very well qualified but lack the experience that's why teachers join our college to get some experience The teaching is good and smart classes are available. Sem exams are conducted after every 4 months and 3 internals are conducted. Its somewhat difficult to pass the exams, If you study a bit you can pass them.
