Remarks :

In 2019, there was no entrance test. Students were selected based on 12th marks. The 12th marks were calculated on a best-of-4 basis with a few mandatory subjects to be included. Merit lists were declared on the University website and the entire admission process was offline. For economics, having studied maths in 12th was compulsory, however, it need not be included in the best-of-4 % calculation. There are approximately 5 merit lists released after which the seats are occupied and the admission closes. However, for a few special categories upto 9 merit lists are declared.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Economics honors is a very rigorous course and involves a lot of math including calculus. The economics department of Ramjas has excellent faculty who have doctorates from prestigious colleges like the Delhi school of economics, ISI, and JNU. There are 20 marks for internals which can be conducted by the faculty at any time. Further, 75 marks are for externals that are conducted at the end of the semester. Lastly, there are 5 marks for attendance and anyone having more than 85% attendance is given full 5 marks. The internals conducted my the teachers of Ramjas were more difficult than the external exams conducted by the university at the end of the semester.

Internships Opportunities :

The average stipend was 30000. A total of 490 offers were made. Companies like Houseitt, Cash Karo, and Mamaearth offered internship opportunities to students on campus. Students in any year of study are eligible to apply for internships unless explicitly mentioned.

Placement Experience :

College placements are just fine. The average package is 5.6 lakhs and the highest went up to 19 lakhs. Companies like pwc, Delottie, and de Shaw come to recruit at Ramjas. The percentage of students who get placed is minimal. Most of the students go on to do masters or opt for off-campus placements. 127 offers were made and 84 recruiters came to campus. Students in their final year are eligible to sit for placements.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee at Ramjas is on the lower end as is the case for all government institutions. The annual fee was around 7,500 rupees for the general category student. There are no extra costs or fees charged during the year except the examination fee to be paid before the semester exams begin. There is financial aid available for students. Campus placements are not so great and the roles offered are mostly for B.Com graduates. Companies like EY also visit Ramjas to hire for audit roles.

Campus Life :

Because Ramjas is located on the North campus, there are a lot of opportunities for students to socialize. Ramjas has societies like Enactus, placement cell, backbeat- the singing society, Melange- the art and craft society, woodcraft- the writing society, entrepreneurship cell, consulting society, and the MUN society. There are 3 types of fests- the college fest, the fest of different societies, and the fest of various societies. Most of these happen in the months of Jan-Feb. Ramjas also has a big ground and a gym for sports.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because I was from PCM (science) background in 12th board and I literally wanted to shift in the course of the art. And science students always look for what best subject in art which is ECONOMICS and we choose this. And the second reason is Economics is something challenging and It provides you to think bigger and know about the money and market. So these are the reason I selected this course. My class has 40 students and except for the Micro teacher, No one teaches very well. We are the first batch of CUET and we just got approx. 3 months to prepare for the semester with an increase in the subject. So that is always hard when you are getting experimented with new things.

Placement Experience:

Students from 2nd year or 5th semester are eligible for pre-placement offers. However, 1st-year students are eligible for internship opportunities only. Around 40 companies visited campus with their placement offers for Bcom. Hons, Bcom, B.A Hons Economics, & some BSc courses. Companies included some Big4 companies like KPMG, Deloitte, E&Y, Wipro, HCL & many more. My plan after getting the degree is to go for MBA or MA in Economics.

Students become eligible from the 6th sem to sit for placements. Companies offering 6 lac to 37 lac visit the campus every year. I was placed in a multinational company with a very good package. People from stats maths and eco courses have higher chances of placement though.

Placement Experience:

From the first year onwards we are eligible for internship opportunities by internship cell. During our 6th sem, we are eligible for job interviews. The placement cell is working hard to review their work in a well-mannered form but still, they lag in bringing big companies to college for on-campus placement drives. Companies like byjus, Genpact, etc. came for placements and they offer full-time jobs for 4-6 lacs package varying from the post they offer. The highest package could go up to 7-8 lacs and on average it's 2 lacs. They offered a various range of profiles to get into. The percentage should be more than 65% at least to get the final placement done smoothly. Plans for graduation are going for higher students in this subject only who want to have a PhD degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

All faculty members were helpful throughout the course and encouraged me to excel in other domains as well. But some teachers just didn't care about the students and were attending classes just for the sake of it. My college was a girl college and there were some male and more female faculty members. Exams were conducted according to the academic calendar released by the college before the start of the semester.
