Jesus & Mary College is a constituent college of Delhi University (DU) and offers several courses at UG, PG and Certificate programmes under different disciplines. The college started its educational journey of imparting higher education with one Arts department offering one Honours and one Pass course. Few years later several other specializations were offered for the UG Arts course and a Commerce Pass course programme was introduced by the college. Besides, it also offers add-on courses.

JMC was founded in 1968 by the Sisters of Jesus and Mary Congregation which originated in France in 1818 and affiliated to the University of Delhi (DU). The college is accredited Grade A by NAAC. Initially the college had enrolled 116 students and appointed 8 faculty members. JMC is the study centre of IGNOU under which 35K students are enrolled. Also, the Non-Collegiate Women's Education Board’s (NCWEB) center started operating in the JMC.

With a team of dedicated faculty members and enthusiastic students Jesus and Mary College has been making significant contributions in the field of higher education for women. The college encourages regular transformations in the education to make the learning experience more coherent and effective.

Jesus & Mary College Admission Process 2023

JMC admission process is completely online. Candidates seeking admission are required to apply online on the official website. Admission to UG courses is done on the basis of CUET scores followed by e-counseling. Candidates need to pass their 10th and 12th class with 40 percent marks in total to be eligible for UG courses provided. The program-specific eligibilities vary from course to course.

The marks obtained by the candidate in CUET will be considered for computing the total marks according to the Program-Specific combinations of subjects for deciding merit and granting admissions in the undergraduate programs. Merit will be based only on the ‘combination of subjects in which a candidate has appeared in CUET.

MA admissions is done through CUET PG. As per the DU admission policy, 50% of seats will be reserved for DU students, while admission to the 50% seats will be provided through CUET PG. Candidates with a bachelor’s degree are eligible to apply for MA through the CUET PG.

Candidates who wish to enroll for the UG courses are required to apply for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) whereas candidates who wish to apply for the PG course are required to apply for the CUET PG.

Candidates applying for UG courses in Jesus and Mary College can follow the following steps in order to register for the CUET:

  • Upon opening the website candidates will find the ‘Register’ tab, they must click on it.

  • Candidates must register at PG admission portal with their email address and fill the registration form 
  • Once the form is submitted candidates will receive a confirmation email with a verification link. Candidates must click on the link in order to verify themselves
  • Candidates will then be required to upload all the necessary documents such as signature, photograph, etc
  • Candidates must then fill the application form and select the programme that they want to apply for
  • After filling the application form candidates are supposed to pay the application fee

  • Library: The JMC has a wide range of national and international collections of books, magazines, daily newspapers, books. There is access to digital e-resources too. The library has seating capacity of 220 people at a time. The library consists of a research and audio-visual room, counselling cell and e-resources centre. It has a subscription of around 97K e-books and 5K e-journals. Resources like Emerald, Oxford University Press, Cambridge University Press, Encyclopedia Britannica are available in the Library.
