Candidates seeking admission in MBA (Business Economics) in Dept. of BE, DU must register themselves on the official website of the department. 

Selection Procedure

Phase 1: Register and Appear for CAT
Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their marks/ percentile in CAT. Hence, candidates should also register themselves on the CAT exam website. 

CAT - Common Aptitude Test?
CAT is the most popular entrance exam for management studies, conducted at the national level by IIM - Indian Institute of Management. The entrance exam is divided into three sections:
1. Verbal Ability
2. DI & Logical Reasoning
3. Quantitative Ability
The selection of the candidates is dependant on CAT Results.

Phase 2: Shortlisting CAT qualifiers for GDPI Round
Post CAT Results, candidates are supposed to update their score or rank, the dept. will shortlist the candidates for GD-PI round - Group Discussion and Personal Interview round. Following os the weightage system for shortlisting candidates:

CAT Percentile – 75%
Marks in Class X – 10%
Marks (best of four) in Class XII – 7.50%
Marks in Maths in Class XII – 2.50%
Marks in Graduation – 5%

Note: Shortlisted candidates will be informed on their register email id and contact number during the time of registration procedure.

Phase 3: Final Selection
The final selection of the candidates is based on several specifications, the following is the weightage-system of the selection procedure

CAT Percentile – 60%
Marks in Class X – 5%
Marks in Class XII – 5%
Marks in Group Discussion – 7.50%
Marks in Personal Interview – 20%
Marks in Graduation – 5%

Ques. Is there any sectional cutoff for MBA at DBE?

Ans. Yes, there is a sectional cutoff in DBE in a way that candidates who are applying for MBA in Business Economics, must be graduates with at least 55% of total marks in aggregate for General Category. There is a relaxation of 5% in sectional cutoff for reserved categories like SC, ST, OBC, and PWS.

Ques. Are foreign national students required to have scored in CAT for admission in MBA BE?

Ans. Yes, It is mandatory to have a good percentile in CAT (Common Aptitude Test) for MBA admissions in Business Economics. Candidates are requested to refer to the admission guidelines carefully on the department website of the University of Delhi.
