In terms of comparision of campus life since Lsr lies at south campus in south delhi even the basic student facilities like salons to pgs can be expensive as compared to delhi university's North campus. Also, Lsr follows a very strict policy of assignment submission.Attendance is v.strict and sometimes even honest reasons don't seem to convince the professors enough. All in all, there will always be even from my personal opinion a very fierce competition from every girl (any department)So, choosing the right friend over another is like walking on cracked eggshells.Managing societies and at same time meeting professors expectations could be very exhausting. All in all, it provides a huge dynamic process from the first day till the last day of college which makes differentiate between right and wrong and independent formation of a woman.
I got admission into LSR, New Delhi through meeting the cut off of psychology hons as my main (core -cbcs i.e. choice based credit system as per guidelines of delhi university i.e there for 3 years) subject and journalism (as a generic elective for which we only have to pursue for 2 years).Apart from choosing this course due to high income and employement rates this course also employs mandatory Aecc system which is a skill enhancement system. In sem 1 students are required to take Environmental science and sem 2 requires us to take English as advanced level course. Both of them last for 6 months and finish by 1st year.By the time we are in sem 3 we are provided with SEC which is a skill enhancement paper in your required core paper.Usually at Lsr organizational psychology is promoted. It also lasts for 6months.At the end of 2nd year we are finished with our generic elective/diploma course.3rd year follows same pattern but no diploma course and continuation of SEC courses. In every semester from 1st to 6th we are required to have practicals which involves extensive research skills. At the end of each semester viva and theory both are to be given to obtain perfect 100 percent.
LSR is actually a great college. There is some internal politics at play in the college but that's the case with every DU college. You get to learn so much, so many talented people surround you. It pushes you to be the best version of yourself.
Through merit list. They work just like other DU colleges. The lists would most probably be released by August last week. I opted for this course because I want to be a writer. LSR is one of the best colleges in India for BA in English. I filled the DU form, and then the LSR form by visiting the campus. Submitted all essential documents. And voila. Done.
It is one of the best colleges in India and it transforms you and makes you a better and bolder person.
I got admission in this college by clearing an entrance exam as it is required for taking admission in my course. For this we have to fill the form on official website of DU ( Delhi University ). It?s forms are generally out by May/ June and new sessions begin from the end of July every year.
Ques. What shall I choose: LSR statistics Hons or JMC economics Hons?
● Top Answer By Debdeep Majumder on 29 Oct 21
Ans.LSR and JMC both are reputed colleges. If we compare then LSR is definitely a better college than JMC. LSR is the best girls college in DU, followed by JMC.
However, it’s best to choose the course of your interest over college. As the course will have more effect on your future. So, research about the course that you are interested in, in both LSR and JMC.
In general, as a subject, Economics Hons has better scope than Statistics Hons. However, if you are interested in numbers, Statistics is a better fit for you.Read more
Ques. I am getting Miranda House, Lady Shri Ram, Hindu and Hansraj? Which one should I choose for economics honors?
● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 20 Oct 21
Ans.Among these three, you need to choose between Lady Shree Ram and Miranda as both of them are good colleges. LSR is better than all because of the various factors including the environment, peer groups, events, and many other things.
If you are not a native resident of NCR and there’s a choice between no hostel LSR or the Miranda House with the hostel, then you can opt for the latter as you will get to enjoy and experience the hostel life. If you are unable to get a hostel anywhere then opt for LSR anyway.Read more
Ques. Would I regret choosing Miranda House over LSR?
● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 29 Sept 21
Ans.Both Miranda House and the Lady Shri Ram (LSR) College of Commerce are two of the most prominent women’s colleges under the University of Delhi. They both have huge respect from the teaching fraternity.
Miranda House is in North Delhi while LSR is in South Delhi and is actually very far from most other colleges. Both the colleges will change your perspective and will give you a totally new outlook of the world ahead. You will make some great friends and your girl-girl bond will definitely grow stronger.
However, I feel that LSR is a little bit too sophisticated and modern and the girls also feel a little too posh. At Miranda House, you will get students from all corners and strata of society. Overall you will not regret for the next three years the decision you took today.Read more
Ans.Both are very good institutes. As some of my friends studied in both Miranda House (MH) and LSR, I might be able to give you a basic idea about them.
LSR is a liberal arts college, maths being the only science subject.
Miranda and LSR both have the same crowd, but MH is much more diverse.
The infrastructure of Miranda is better than LSR.
Both these institutions have a significant role to play in women's education.
The institutes are great with amazing and well-experienced faculty.
Professors are very warm and welcoming, and they are well-versed in their subject matter.
They not only teach us in the traditional lecture format, but they also encourage us to engage with the topics.
Film screenings are also held on a regular basis also.
Overall, both these institutes are equally good and you will see yourself grow and change as a person intellectually.Read more
Ques. Which are better: BA economics honors from LSR or Ashoka University?
● Top Answer By Mukul Parashar on 14 Aug 20
Ans.For BA Economics honours LSR will be a better option as compared to Ashoka University. Given below are the reasons why.
Lady Shri Ram (LSR) is one of the most reputed colleges in Delhi and it also has an enviable alumni base. The focus of Delhi University’s system is a lot more on the undergraduate programs. The professors sincerely dedicate a minimum of 35 hours for teaching.
Ashoka University is also a good university but it is quite expensive to pursue a course from as compared to LSR/DU. The course fee BA Economics (Hons.) degree is 16,390 for first year in LSR. At Ashoka University the course fee is 8.85 lakhs for the first year for BA Economics (Hons.) degree.
LSR will provide you with a strong and ambitious peer group as the students of LSR Economics students aim for Yale and Harvard universities after their graduation.
The placement rate and record of LSR is better than Ashoka University. The students at LSR get placed with placement packages ranging between 5-15 LPA. MNCs like EY, Mckinsey, BCG, etc. visit the campus to recruit students. On the other hand, the students at Ashoka University receive an average placement package of 6-7 lakhs. Companies like Deloitte, Clix Capital, Business Standard, Genpact, India Infoline Finance Limited, McKinsey & Co, etc. visit the campus for placement drives.Read more
