Honest college review of SVNIT

Remarks :

There is counselling called JOSAA for the admission process in nits. Students who appeared for the jee mains exams conducted by NTA can register for counselling. There are no application fees for the admission process. You can get lots of benefits if you have reserved a category. The overall Admission process is smooth. According to me, there is not nothing to improve further but yes the category benefits are too much and it's not fair for the deserving general candidates

Course Curriculum Overview :

I was always interested to be an architect that's why I chose this course civil engineering. The facilities are well-educated and knowledgeable. The student ratio is 4 to 1 which is not that good. Almost all the facilities have completed their PhDs in their respective fields. There are two exams mid term and end sem examinations per semester. It's not that hard to pass if you study in the lectures.

Internships Opportunities :

Internships are provided by the companies like L&T with a stipend of about 10 to 20 thousand per month. you will get the projects about your interest and qualifications and according to your outcomes you will get jobs by mentioning it in your resume

Placement Experience :

Almost 75% of students got their intentions and placement. Companies like L&T visited the company and you can apply for the non-core companies too on campus. The highest package from my branch was about 15 LPA and the average package was about 5 to 7 LPA. Most of the students do their higher studies after the completion of BTech abroad or the same or in any other college. My plan is to get a decent package after the degree or to do a start-up.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee structure for the general and obc candidates is 16 lacs for the whole course including all the mess fees and hostel fees. For SC/ST candidates the tuition fee is about 35 thousand. There are many scholarships provided by the government if you are eligible for them. Campus placement is overall good you can get an internship on campus and even can apply for the campus too. In the second year, you can do projects and can stipend of about 7 thousand per month.

Campus Life :

There are lots of fest and events happen during the year. There are at least 2 to 5 events per week in college. Fests like cultural fests and techno-managerial fests are amazing and mesmerizing. They are organised by the students and sometimes faculty members get involved in it but mostly by the students only. Taking about books then you can issue books from the library. Every type of book is available in it. Classroom are average and the infrastructure of the college is also not that good. You can get Sports opportunities in volleyball basketball and cricket like sports. For extracurricular activities, you can join clubs according to your interests. Some social media groups and clubs are websites for students run by students. But the official Websites are run by the college management of course.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel facilities are average. Rooms are average and the facilities in the hostel like laundry are not free you will have to pay for them. Mess food is not that tasty but it is healthy and hygienic. The registration process of the hostel is done at the time of physical reporting at the college and I think it is affordable too. If you are local then maybe it can be hard for you to travel to the college and PG because you will have to come to college twice a day for the events which occur after college time and for other activities too. So, in my opinion, the hostel is better than PG

Semester 7 students are eligible to apply for placements. There is one placement rule. If you are placed through college then you cannot apply for other companies through campus placement. Companies like Reliance Industries, Torrent, Adani, L&T, and TCS visit here. Also, the TCS training camp is held for 3rd-year students too. A lot of expert talk is held. For NCC cadets in Electrical engineering, there is a huge benefit. They get recruited in the Navy for 12lpa. There are students who serve in BSF too. The highest package is for Engg Officers in Army, Navy, and Air Force i.e 12lpa. For civilians, Reliance Industries offers 7.5 CTC. But still, the percentage of students getting placed is low. In my Dept this year only 10-11 students are placed 3 in reliance industries, 3 in Adani, 2 in E info chips, and 2 in TCS out of 75 total strength. I am placed in Reliance Industries so I will continue in New Energy Plant. And I am a passionate musician my voice has been on the air on radio stations in Surat. Also done playback.

Our college placements are well-designed and connected through companies from various fields. MNCs are also connected in placements. Countries like Germany are also providing jobs to the best students and skilled workers. The percentage of students getting placements is somewhat low but it can be assumed to be 45%. My plan is to not opt for placements since I will be continuing my master's from abroad.
