Remarks :

The admission is done on the basis of Cut-off. It was totally based on your 12th percentage. The application is filled through the.ac.in the site. This one form is applicable to every affiliated college under Panjab University. The admission procedure was online.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I choose Bachelor of commerce (hons.) My specialization was accounting and finance as i have interest in account, i opted for this course. The teachers are cooperative and maximum of them are doctorate in this degrees. The college conduct MID SEMESTER in each semester which are of 30 marks each subject for 1.5 hours.

Class Size : 70Course Fees : INR 24000 per year

Placement Experience :

Mainly from 5 semesters , companies start coming with their job offers or sometimes in 4th semester. The average package is 1.5L and maximum is 18L from D.E Shaw. But from many years this company took no student. Percentage doesn't matter for placement. What matters is your communication skills.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The total fees for the course is 72,000/- . The fees is paid in 3 installments of Rs. 24,000/- each. The mode of payment is online. The college provides placement opportunities . In final year the companies start coming with theirs offers.

Campus Life :

This year Youth Fest of Panjab University was conducted in our college. And also there was a 3 days start night named Karwaan and there were many other programs. Stalls were also there. There are many clubs in our college like CAC(converse about commerce) which is mainly for commerce students, Lasya, and DSW are dance clubs, RAAH is a Library club and there are many more clubs.

Hostel Facilities :

Double and triple persons room are available. AC and Non AC both are available. 1 bed , 1almirah and 1 table chair is provided. The food is outstanding. Healthy and hygiene. 3 meals a day plus snacks in evening. Registration process is simple just will the form and submit it in hostel office and pay the fees.

Hostel Fee : INR 95000 per year

The students are eligible for employment from colleges after 5 semesters and the college organises an employment fest at the end of the semester so students can choose from there. If you are a Bcom graduate you can look for options in accounting or finance or data entry or you can pursue MBA to diversify your field of employment

Life at CHANDIGARH UNIVERSITY

Placement Experience:

From the 4th semester students are eligible for the placements. Companies like Infosys, Wipro, Amazon, Myntra, etc are visiting this college for placements and the no of placements is good. The highest package now for my course is 12 lakhs and the average package is 3 lakhs. 40% to 60% is the average placement for the Bcom department. I am going to continue my further higher studies from here only.

HONEST OPINION: UILS, Panjab University, Chandigarh

Course Curriculum Overview:

Personally, me being a commerce student with a vast interest in law made me choose this particular course. Choosing this course increases my options for a career in bachelor of commerce as well as in law with integrated options as well. Faculty: Student ratio in UILS is nominal with ample Professors, Associate Professors and Assistant Professors. With 180 seats per course divided among 3 sections each, available professors are enough for the same. Faculty's qualification is Phd for professors with amazing work profiles as can be seen in their CVs provided on University's website. The teaching method is subjective with every subject. Like subjects of law are taught in a pretty well way accompanied by ample competitions like a moot court, ADRs, Judgement Writing, quizzes etc. contrary to theoretical subjects which are boring. Mid sems being objective and Final exams being subjective are conducted every semester with a moderate level of difficulty requiring a lot of content to score well.

I choose Bcom because I'm intersted in studying finance and marketing. 80 - 90 students are in your class/course. Your teachers are highly qualified professionals and they teach us very well. There are 2 exams 1st mid sem and 2nd semester ending exams. It's not that difficult to pass.
