The history of Middlesex University can be traced back to the late 1880s when two colleges based in the north of London - St, Katherine’s College (a female teacher’s training college) established in 1878 and the Hornsey College of Art in 1882. These two colleges were later joined by two other institutes - Ponder’s End Technical Institute in 1901 and Hendon Technical Institute in 1939.
These colleges along with several other institutions in the same area were named the Middlesex Polytechnic in 1973. In 192, by Royal Assent, it was awarded the title ‘University’.
The University opened its first overseas campus in Dubai, UAE in 2005. The Dubai Campus located in Dubai Knowledge Park is on its way to become a global university with over 3600 students from over 100 countries.

Middlesex University Dubai Courses
The University offers an array of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in major fields like Business, Law, Art and design, Science and Technology, Media, Accounting and finance, Health and Education.
The University has also introduced two new programmes - B.Eng in Electronic Engineering and M.Sc in Cyber Security and Pen testing.
Students who wish to study at this prestigious University’s Dubai campus but are not eligible for direct admission to UG courses, the University offers International Foundation Programme.
This is a 30 week programme that helps students to bridge the gap between high school and college education and enables them to get enrolled in their preferred courses at Middlesex University.
In 2021, the University will also conduct a series of sessions known as In Class Progression sessions from 28th March 2021. These sessions will enable students to find out more about the programme they have enrolled in and the specific study area. Middlesex University Dubai International Student Scholarships
International Students who have applied for a bachelors/Masters or International Foundation programme for session 2021 can apply for international study grants offered by Middlesex University, Dubai. The scholarship will be applicable for the duration of study at Middlesex University, Dubai.
Apart from that, international students from partner schools can also apply for a scholarship under Schools Partnership Grant.
International applicants who have displayed excellence in any organised sports and have won national/international competitions for the same can also apply for scholarship under Team Middlesex Sporting Excellence Scholarship.
Any international applicant who is currently teaching in any school within UAE or across the globe and has applied for an Education postgraduate program will receive a 25% study Grant under Teacher Study Grant. Furthermore, under this grant, those who have enrolled for other postgraduate programmes will receive a 20% grant.
