Eligibility: Class 12 with 75% aggregate Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with any one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subject (for SC/ST 65% aggregate is required)

Selection: JEE Main + JoSAA Counselling

NIT offers admission to Bachelor of Technology in 6 specializations. Admission to the course will be based on the marks secured in JEE Mains and JoSAA. 10+2 qualified students will be eligible for the entrance examination and further admission process. Application form can be downloaded from the official website of NIT.

• Seat allocation to the selected candidates of JEE Mains will be done through Joint Seat Allocation Authority.
• Based on the results of this examination, a merit list is prepared and selected candidates are intimated about the details regarding the admission process.

ENTRANCE PREVIEW: JEE (mains) is the Entrance Exam that has to be cleared to get into this prestigious institute. For my rank, the best I could get was this particular institute, so I landed here. No, there wasn't any interview process involved. My interest in Engineering and more precisely towards Electronics made me choose the Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering branch here in NIT Silchar.
