Established in the year 1967, NIT Silchar is one of the 31 NITs of the country. Founded as a Regional Engineering College (REC), it was given the status of National Institute of Technology (NIT) in the year 2007. With 11 departments offering courses in Engineering, Science, and Humanities, NIT Silchar is certainly one of the best technical institutions of India. It has been ranked by various ranking agencies such as NIRF, India Today, The Week, and many more. NIT Silchar has been ranked 38th for Engineering and 76th for overall performance by NIRF 2022 Rankings. The institute has also been ranked at 11th (overall), 8th Among Top Government Institution, and 2nd Zone wise (East) in the Dataquest top T-School Survey 2021

Also, NIT Silchar has been recognized at the global level with the prestigious rankings of Times Higher Education in the rank band of 801-1000th in the THE World University Rankings 2022 which has been consistent as that of THE World University Rankings 2021. The institute has been placed QS Asia University Ranking-2022 in the rank band #401-450. Also, NIT Silchar retained its position in THE EMERGING ECONOMIES Ranking-2022 at the rank band 251-300.

Internships Opportunities:

There are many companies that are visited in our college firstly amazon offers a 1 lakh stipend for the role of Software developer intern and Goldman Sachs also offers SDE with a stipend of 1 lakh and oracle a stipend of 50k.

Placement Experience:

In the 7th semester, we are eligible for placements. Many companies are visited our college like amazon, Vodafone, Samsung, etc. The highest package is 55 lakh and the average package is 14 lakh.94 percent of students get placed every year. I plan to settle in a good software company.

For internships, we have to connect to companies and those companies cam are mostly for the tech field not for core branchs as for tech abobe came and many students get selected on the fund of 50000 per month.

Campus placement is quite good here, Form 7 sem you can be eligible for the campus placement different company visite campus for their recruitment. for the civil L&T visited 12 LPA and other company visited. If I talk about this year's placement of the 2023 batch so 100% placement for civil and of 14 LPA highest to 8 LPA average.

NIT Silchar a good place to study

Internships Opportunities:

Atlassian, Goldman Sachs, Media net, Ninjacart, Hls, Optum, Digit And they took the internet and interviews to select or shortlist the students and many students didn't get these internships only 20% of students got them.

Placement Experience:

Placements at our college are quite good compared to others from 7th-semester students who are eligible to sit in placements. The companies were Amazon, Goldman Sachs, BHEL, Atlassian, Accenture Tata, Adobe, Samsung, HLC, Mastercard, and Optum. and 514 offers were made. The highest package was 44 lakhs from amazon. and the average package of the ECE branch was 14 lakh per annum. In the ECE branch the percentage of people getting placed is 90% and in the CSE branch last year it is 100%. My plans are to get placed in a good company with a nice package and many people choose to go to higher studies or for UPSC.

Internships Opportunities:

The companies that offer internships are amazon, Goldman Sachs, and MATLAB with stipends of 60k-80k per month. Roles are as a trainee for the company. For getting an internship in those companies one must have a strong grip on coding DSA and Algorithms and must have a project.

Placement Experience:

In the 7th semester, students become eligible for placements and can sit in placement rounds till the end of the 8th semester if they are not yet placed. A lot of tech companies like Microsoft, amazon visit during campus placement and they recruit a lot of students. The highest placement is 44 LPA and the average package is 15 LPA . 74% of the students eligible for placement got placed. After getting the degree I would like to work at a tech company and grow along my career.

A Honest Review on NIT Silchar.

Internships Opportunities:

The internship at NIT Silchar is decent. Around 60 students in CSE & ECE get an internship opportunity. You will be getting the role of Junior intern and a stipend it depending on the students and the companies you are approaching.

Placement Experience:

The placement in NIT Silchar is decent. You will be eligible for placement from the 4th year but you will be associated with the T&P cell from the 3rd year. The companies which came for placements in 2022 are Samsung R&D Institute, Bangalore, Larsen and Toubro, Bharat Electronics Limited, Amazon Web Services, Vedanta Resources Limited, Make My Trip, etc. The highest package is 44 LPA in 2022 offered by Amazon Web Services and the average package is 15-16 LPA. Almost 95% of students get placed in CSE & and 90% in ECE, followed by EIE whereas in other branches the percentage is low. After getting the degree, I will be seating for placements and getting a Job Of course.

Many projects are organised by the college in the Machine learning and Artificial intelligence domain. Many faculty have specialisation in it. A few projects are being showcased by Unicef and Many international hackathons and events.

Students with no backlogs after the 6th semester are eligible to sit for the placements. I don't have much information as I am a fresher but Adobe, Microsoft, and amazon give opportunities to students here. Many of them get pre-placed there only. The highest stipend I heard of was 80000 per month.
