From 3 years you can apply for placement. The highest package for this year is 44 LPA, and the average is around 10 LPA. Nearly 25-30 companies visited this year. The percentage of placement is around 60 percent. Although the percentage is low if you have a talent you can apply for off-campus. I would like to have a placement.
The placements at Tezpur University are rather a nightmare. It offers very less opportunities in terms of placements. Big companies do not visit the campus. Mostly TCS visits the university and recruits the freshers. From our batch the highest package received was 6LPA and only 3-4 people were placed with below-average packages. The % of students getting placed is very low even for a central university. Maximum students need to opt for higher studies or go for off-campus placement due to lack of placement.
Internship opportunities are provided in 3rd year but I am not so aware of the internship opportunities. However, one can definitely try off-campus and grab any suitable opportunities. TnP tries to bring a few companies to give internship opportunities.
The average placement of our department last year was about 4.93LPA and almost 80% of students got placed. The placement scenario is changing and good companies have started to visit the campus post covid. Many PSU too comes for direct recruitment. Students in the core branch either prepare for GATE or aim for higher studies.
I am just a first-year student so I haven't applied for any internship yet but I will try to apply for internships during my academics. Most probably the internships or projects will be related to food manufacturing or development in the process of food or improvements in the quality of food, etc.
Most probably the students are made aware of internships and jobs during the 5th semester. Popular brands like AMUL, ITC, Britannia, etc have visited the university for campus placement and the total number of offers made during the session 20-21 is 25. The highest package was around 5.5 lpa and the average was about 4.09 lpa. After graduating I might apply for placements or pursue my masters
There are many companies that offer internship both paid and unpaid.some of them are C-DAC,Brainayan,L & t ecc.coin DCX.I have written internships considering all branches. For civil psu NHIDCL has provided paid internship.
Almost all students are placed who study hard in college.placement percentage is less but considering north east quota having 60% students admitted also on 200000 to 500000 rank placement is good if you neglect those students.Keep in mind if you study well here then you will end up getting job after 4 years. If you don't study well then you might not get job.so come in this college only when you are sure that you will study.
At Tezpur University, you have to go through various projects and internships. Seniors and teaching will guide you for internships and projects. Teachers will give you various kinds of projects and you have to submit them.
As I told you if you are at Tezpur University, you don't need to worry about your placements. From the second year, you are eligible to go through various training sessions. In our Civil department, the average package is 5lakhs and the highest is 23 lakhs
Placement is a bit low here because of the location of the university however many MNCs like TCS, Wipro, and Capgemini come for placement. Many students prepare for GATE or go for higher students in their domain.
There are good internship opportunities starting from 1st year itself, many students got decent internships and students from mechanical got internships from PSUs like NHAIDL with a stipend of 10000 rs per month. there is a separate AIEE Council for internship facilities. teachers are quite helpful to guide you about internship facilities. several projects like robotic design are provided to students. Students are also provided with sufficient money for startups when they have good ideas.
The campus placement percentage of BTech in mechanical is about 70%. the average package of ME is about 6 lpa. several national and international companies like Luit minerals, cognizant technology solutions, Edventure, tech Mahindra, Infosys etc. come here to recruit every year. the highest package of ME is about 36 lakh lpa recruited by Infosys. total 268 offers are given by companies up to now. Students can sit in the campus placement cell from the 7th semester. some of the PSU companies like OIL INDIA, BHEL, power grid etc. come to recruit here. My plan after completing my BTech degree is to join PSU companies either by campus placement or by GATE scores.
A good internships are offered to the students of the college like IVIA offered a good stipend for backend developer,Numaligarh refinary limited, North frontier railway and IOCL offers a good stipends.
More then 300+ companies which are coming here for placements. Like Wipro ,ITC Patanjali and TECH Mahindra ,Amdani adani etc. visits every year. Highest pakeges for CSE is 37.5Lpa and same goes for the other branches. In every department 5-6 students are offered 9-10 lpa and rest goes in between 4-6 lpa. 70- 80% students are placed Evey year in several good companies. I will try to participate in gate exam to crack IIT for my future M.Tech studies. Many students also do M.tech from this university also.
There are many companies offering internship both paid and unpaid . For civil department psu like NHIDCL have provided paid internship to students during summer Holidays with a stipend of 10000 per month.
Placement rate of school of engineering tezpur is not so great as compared to nits but still it has a decent placement rate with and from 6th semester i.e 3rd year one is eligible to sit for placement and if you are skilled then there's high chance of getting you placed. CSE=6lpa with 90% placement rate Civil=4.22lpa with 60% placement rate Mech=5.5 lpa with 35% placement rate ECE= 4.93lpa with 80% placement rate Electrical=4.71 with 40% placement rate FET=4.19 with 32% placement rate

Admission to Tezpur University is solely based on the JEE Mains exam and students are called for counselling after releasing the merit list. The courses and admission procedures are detailed on the university website and are easy and simple. During my time the counselling was done in person and we had to go to the university for it but after COVID, situations have changed and counselling is done online now. The reservation benefits can also be availed in the admission process per government norms.
MABy - Muzammil AhmedThe admission is based on the score in CUET and the subject of choice. One has to appear in CUET conducted by NTA and after the result has to apply to the Tezpur University website separately after which on the basis of merit admission is offered.
SBy - StudentI got admission through the NCL quota of the OBC category in the 2nd counselling (spot round). The admission process is really slow, could have added more digitalization. As we, the students, have to go one after another for the document verification and payment process plus we have to fill up some forms which could have been made avail earlier on the website.
