How is IIT Mandi CS in terms of campus, placement and college life?

IIT Mandi CS is great in terms of campus, placements, and college life. During the 2022 placement drive, 84 students from CS registered from CS, out of which 83 students got placed. The placement rate was 99%. Students of CS received a total of 103 offers. Companies such as Google, Samsung, Microsoft, etc. took part in IIT Mandi placements. The average CTC for the branch was INR 15 LPA.

What is the current placement scenario at IIT Mandi?

From what placement records everyone has seen, IIT Mandi has been showcasing a very decent placement record. There are a number of companies that visit the institute every year at the permanent campus and the numbers have been improving every year. As for the year 2019-20, there was a 50% increase in the average salary offered to students from IIT Mandi. Here are some more statistics: As far as the placement drive last year was concerned, 85% of students were given offers from the undergraduate level. Microsoft is probably the largest recruiter at the college and it handed out 11 offers. The largest number of offers were made in phase 1 with 112 of them going out which was the highest number to date. A total of 75 companies had registered for this phase. Some of the top companies that offered placement and internships to students included LTI, TCS, Toppr, Samsung Delhi, L&T, Amazon, HPCL, IBM, CodeNation, Goldman Sachs, etc. Of the 112 offers made, 34 students also received pre-placement offers which resulted in their internships being converted into job offers. In the case of salary, from last year’s numbers, you can expect to have an average salary of INR 13.4 LPA and the highest package offered at INR 40 LPA. Moreover, if you are from the CSE department, you will definitely have an advantage. This department has the highest number of placements followed by the EEE department. The year 2019-2020 also experienced an increase in the number of international offers which is a really good sign. You can expect to be placed in the fields of engineering, education, research, sales as well as business development. The companies that offer PPOs are also quite well-founded. In my opinion, there is no dearth of opportunities at IIT Mandi. The placement record is very decent.

How is IIT Mandi for pursuing an MS in VLSI for an ECE student, and what are the placement options after completing the same?

IIT Mandi isn’t a good option for pursuing an MS in VLSI. It doesn’t have a strong alumni base, as the institute is new. The location of the campus is remote. The location factor creates constraints for placements. IIT Mandi placements aren’t good for MS VLSI. After completing the course, most students either go for a Ph.D. from old IITs or tier 2 universities abroad.

What is the average package of CSE at IIT Mandi?

IIT Mandi has an excellent placement history and is one of the best colleges in India. The average package offered at IIT Mandi is 13.5 LPA. IIT Mandi Placements 2023 Phase 1 has been concluded with 249 offers from 88 participating recruiters. Till now 90 International offers & 70 pre- placement offers were made. The college in Mountains.

Placement Experience:

I am still studying here but I have heard from my seniors about placements So I may be wrong. It seems to be above average. Above 90% of students were placed in this course. The highest may be around 45 LPA and the lowest was 13 lpa while the average goes around 23lpa. Top companies include Oracle, TCS, etc. Regarding internship around 78% of the course strength got into. The top roles offered were as Data Scientists, Data analysts, etc.

Internships Opportunities:

Since I am still studying here in 2nd year so I may be wrong with some facts but there is a lot of opportunity for internships. Many famous companies like Samsung, HDFC spirit labs, etc. have offered roles like SDE and much more in the data science field also.

Life at an IIT

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for campus placements starting from the beginning of their 4th year. However, prior to placements, students must complete their internships, which begin in their 3rd year. During the hiring season, many companies visit IIT Mandi, including major recruiters such as Microsoft, Amazon, Adobe, Siemens, Trilogy Innovations (Codenation), Sprinkler, and Google. Other companies, such as Oracle, Uber, Flipkart, Paytm, and Razorpay, also participate in the campus placement program. The highest package offered within India was reported to be INR 62.5 Lakhs, while international packages can reach as high as INR 2 crores. Based on statistics from the previous year, more than 95% of students were placed through on-campus or off-campus placements. After obtaining my degree, I plan to work and support my family financially. After achieving financial stability, I plan to pursue an MBA from an IIM.

Internships Opportunities:

The maximum stipend a student can receive during their internship is Rs. 2 lakh per month. During this recruiting season, several renowned companies, including Microsoft, Amazon, Siemens, Samsung, Oracle, Google, Uber, Zomato, HDFC Finance, and Hitachi, have participated. The available roles range from Software Development Engineer (SDE) to product management to the data analyst, with some companies offering more than one role. Students can choose the role that aligns with their interests. IIT Mandi regularly holds the yearly hackathon "Frosthack," which provides students with the opportunity to enhance their skills and add projects to their resumes. Additionally, IIT Mandi offers a flagship interdisciplinary course, where students must develop a working prototype.

The students become eligible for campus placements after the 6th sem. The companies visited are Google, Microsoft, Oracle, Amazon and Hdfc, etc. The highest CTC offered is 62lpa and the average is 19 LPA. The percentage of students getting placed depends on the branches in cse approx 100% of students get placed and in the dse 95% of students get placed and in the electrical 85% of students get placed.

Internships Opportunities:

sde intern companies are : google-120000 media.net-100000 oracle-100000 arista - 60000 etc. ml intern hdfc -120000 Zomato-45000 Qualcomm-45000 etc. electrical Texas - 60000 jaguar-80000 etc. There are so many companies that come in the 5th semester of the student for the internship, You can grab 6 month /2-month internship.

Campus placements are good for you if you are in CS, DSE, or EE and want to work in the IT field. For other branches, if you want to opt for core jobs, there are very limited opportunities. Overall avg package of the college is around 20LPA.

Internships Opportunities:

Almost all big IT companies including Google, Flipkart, Condensation, Uber, etc visit the college for hiring interns as well as for providing full-time jobs as well in the final year. So if you are interested in this field you will get enough opportunities if you have a CS, DSE, or EE branch.

Why IIT MANDI ?

Placement Experience:

From the start of the 5th semester companies will be coming on campus for intenships. For placements campanies come in september month for seventh semester i.e., the start of the fourth year. Students can do internships off-campus before third year as well. Almost 200 companies visit our campus for internships and placements. From CSE 99% of the students are getting placed every year. Overall its like 80% placements. Previous year highest on campus package was 48 lac. Median package for CSE was 32 lac and average package was 28 lac. Overall the average package was 20 lac. Mostly there profiles are software development role or data scientist role. All the big companies like google, microsoft, uber, sprinklr, triology, amazon, oracle, media.net, newzera, arista networks, intuit, indeed, flipkart, samsung, willings, accenture, GMO research INC, yum brands etc visit for placements and placments. Companies like google, microsoft hires just on the basis of internship for fuill time offer. So

Placements are quite good, the total average package is 18 lakh and the CSE average is 25 lakh, median of 32 lakh per annum. Big tech giants Amazon, Microsoft, Adobe, and Samsung visit the campus every year and take a good amount of students. The highest domestic package is nearly 50 lakh and international even reach 70 lakhs.

Internships Opportunities:

Placement Experience:

Companies came in 4th year for hiring students so in the 8th semester hiring started. Various companies are visited here like Microsoft, sprinkle, uber Google, amazon etc. The highest domestic package is around 70,00,000 and the lowest around 10,00,000 for CSE students. Around 98 percentage students got placement.

Internships Opportunities:

You have to do an internship in your 3rd year because some credits are associated with it. Many companies came here for on-campus internships. The maximum came for tech-based student interns. For that some tests they conducted and then take your interview. For passing the test you required good coding skills and for passing the interview, your communication skills and projects have to be good.

Campus placements are amazing here. It boasts very high packages and so does iit mandi. We have an annual average of 20lpa and 31lpa for cse. The highest packages can range from year to year but are usually above 60lpa
