Likes
- I chose this course because SMVDU is a well-reputed university and has a big name in the field of management. It also provides better career opportunities and knowledge about the market.
- L&T is there to provide internships at their company. After placement, TCS also provides a good opportunity for their students to learn about their projects. Berger Paints provides sales jobs to their students.
- There are a lot of students who go for these placements and get a very good job.
- There are a lot of scholarship opportunities here based on CAT, MAT, and other educational criteria.
- Grocery is the best part of the campus where all students interact and sit together.
- The hostel facility is also decent, and we get much better food than at universities outside Jammu and Kashmir.
- Good environment to learn and explore nature as it is located at the foothills of the Nilgiri Mountains.
Dislike
- According to me, the course structure can be improved to meet the needs of the industry.
- When you dont get experience of practical hands-on learning, how can you expect to excel in the industry?
- As for MBA, the placement record is also not good, with only a few companies approaching.
- I applied to the Institute of Management Science, but the poor placement record was the reason why I decided not to pursue my MBA from there.

Placement Experience:
Placements are quite good in this college. Companies like Wipro, ZScaler, TCS, etc. visit our college. The University concluded 2022 placements with 455 students placed in leading companies such as Tech Mahindra, Infosys, Accenture, and many others. Out of all, Cognizant emerged as the top recruiter with the highest number of students selected during SMVDU placements in 2022.
Remarks:
The college takes admission on basis of JOSAA, CSAB, and direct Jee entry. But due to covid-19, at that time, the college decided to take admission on basis of 10+2 merit basis and the cut-off was 95.6% (in CSE).
Course Curriculum Overview:
I opted for economics because I wanted to understand businesses and markets. Because I want to see myself in business competition. And our faculty members were very helpful and friendly and also highly qualified. There are 10 to 12 faculty for one department effectively.
Remarks:
The application process for this university was very easy and simple. At that time covid was at its top level and that's why there was no entrance exam conducted. But now for every course, there is an entrance exam (eg. Cuet exam ). For B. ARCH. AND ENGINEERING COURSES, FEES range from 7 to 12 lacs per single degree. And for a management and Arts graduation degree, fees range from 4 to 8 lacs.
Placement Experience:
From the seventh semester, students are eligible for campus placements. Yet they prefer to go out after the 8th semester. Big companies like Amazon, tata, etc., usually come to my college and give us a good package. I will be a very good engineer after getting the degree.
Remarks:
I got into smvdu through the CUET exam. The University eligibility was just 45 percent in PCM in 10th and 12th. The cut-off was quite high, but I scored good marks, so I got into college through counseling in round 2. Its NIRF ranking is 101 this year but was better previously. It is a very good college if we see the placement percentage. The greatest advantage it has is its surrounding nature. It is fabulous. It is in J&K, so anybody should know how beautiful it is. All over, it is a very good college with good job opportunities. So people should know about the college.
