National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS) is located in Kochi city of Ernakulam district, India. It is a public law school and a National Law University. It is the first and only National Law University in the State of Kerala and one of the 23 NLUs in India. It was established by Act 27 of 2005 of the Kerala State Legislature. It was earlier known as National Institute for Advanced Legal Studies (NIALS). NUALS is also ranked 11 in all India for law studies as per the rankings published by India Today.

NUALS offers BA LLB, LLM, PG Diploma, Ph.D and certificate programs under its curriculum. NUALS admissions to all these courses are done on the basis of the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT).

NUALS Kochi Courses and Fees

The National University of Advanced Legal Studies offers four different courses under various specializations. NUALS Kochi Admission 2023 

The National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS) offers a diverse range of legal education at undergraduate & postgraduate level. The courses offered by the university are BA LLB, LLM, PG Diploma, and Ph.D. 

All the admissions at NUALS are strictly entrance-based. The selection of the UG & PG courses will be done on the basis of the marks of CLAT (centralized exam for law). Kerala students have a reservation of 49% across all categories.

NUALS Kochi Application Process

Admissions to LLM and BA- LLB (Hons) will be done via CLAT. The application process for CLAT is mentioned here:

  • Register on the official website of the CLAT & fill the application form correctly.
  • Upload all the necessary documents which are asked there.
  • Pay the application fee online through net banking debit/ credit cards/ UPI, etc.

Application Process for PG Diploma courses:

  • Eligible candidates will be listed on the basis of the qualifying exam (Bachelor’s Degree) cut-off.

Application Process for PhD:

  • The candidates have to download the application form as a pdf from the website of the university

  • The candidates who are doing research in the recognised institutions can submit their application through the Head of the Institution to the Registrar of the University

NUALS Kochi CLAT Cut off 2023 (Expected)

The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLU) will release the cut-off for the year 2023 at the time of counselling and seat allotment. Right after the declaration of CLAT 2023 results the NLUs will start their seat allotment and counselling process. Candidates who want to take admission in NUALS Kochi should check the cut-off scores of CLAT 2023 for NUALS Kochi.
