The Indira Gandhi National Tribal University, Anuppur, Madhya Pradesh has been established by an Act of the Parliament of India. It came to existence by the Indira Gandhi National Tribal University Act, 2007 and came into action in July 2008. It is a UGC-recognized university and also accredited by NAAC with grade 'B'.

IGNTU Admission

  • Candidates can apply online by visiting the official website of Indira Gandhi National Tribal University. The Admission in all the Courses shall be given on the basis of CUET conducted by NTA
  • Applicants' are shortlisted based on an CUET exam conducted by NTA. 
  • Candidates seeking admission to MBA programs are also granted admission based on CAT, MAT, CMAT, XAT Score. 
  • PhD aspirants with a valid CSIR NET/ UGC NET score are also preferred during admission.

IGNTU Facilities

The Indira Gandhi National Tribal University provides various facilities to the students as well as faculty members:

Central Library: IGNTU Library is the focal point of information for the student's community. Currently, it has 58000 books in its collection.

Hostel: There are 3 boys' and 1 girls hostel namely Narmada Boys, Sone Hostel for Boys, TCPC Boys Hostel and New Girls Hostels.

NCC: NCC unit of the University is under the 7 M.P. (I) COY NCC Shahdol of Jabalpur Group. It started in the University in July 2013. The total allotment strength of SD (Senior Division NCC) Cadets is 106. Presently the total strength of SD Cadets is 36.

Other facilities: Cafeteria, TrAnsport, Medical cell, Guest Room, Alumni Association, Bank facilities

Ans. Indira Gandhi National Tribal University (IGNTU) is meant for a peaceful and good environment and the university is located at Amarkantak in MP. The university provides many campus facilities such as separate hostels for the boys and girls, 4 hours of internet access, smart classrooms, NCC facilities for the students etc.

Currently, there are two hostels for girls namely, Rani Durgawati and OBC girls hostel, and for the boys including Guru Govind & OBC hostel and one more for Ph.D. scholars. The hostel charge for the IGNTU students ranges between INR 1650 – 6000/- annually.

Ques. Is IGNTU BVoc different from other regular BA courses?

Ans. IGNTU BVoc is a three-year programme which is offered in five specializations including Theatre, Stagecraft, Film Production, and Software Development. IGNTU BVoc admission process is similar to the Ba/ B.Sc courses based on an online entrance test conducted by the University.

Ques. Does IGNTU provide any doctoral degree courses?

Ans. Yes, at the doctoral level, IGNTU offers a Ph.D. programme in 18 specializations. For seeking admission to any of these specializations, candidates need to possess a master’s degree in a relevant field.
