Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth is an agricultural university located at Akola, Maharashtra. Established in 1969, the university has since successfully educated students in the varied fields of agricultural sciences. With over 20 post graduation courses and 6 Doctorate departments, PDKV also has 20 research stations providing quality education to students from all over the country.

The PhD courses availed by the university has 6 different departments according to the interest of the students. More than 50% of the available seats are reserved for students who have pursed Agricultural studies in the Universities of state of Maharashtra. In order to be eligible for applying to Ph.D. programme of the university, a minimum of 6.5 CGPA or equivalent is required by the candidates at post graduate level. Selection of applicants for the Ph.D. programme is done strictly on the basis of qualifying degree merit

Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidate should have completed his/her Post Graduation from an Agricultural Universities of Maharashtra or any other equivalent Agricultural Universities
  • Candidates should possess a minimum score of 6.5 CGPA out of 10.00 or equivalent in their post-graduate qualifying examination

Admission Process

  • Selection of all candidates will be done through counselling on the basis of qualifying degree merit

  • Proper verification of application forms and deposited certificates will be reviewed by the Dean of the Post Graduate Institute/College for further registration

  • In order to complete the application process, candidates must submit the registration fee of Rs. 600/- (Rs. 300/- for reserved category candidates) through Challan in State Bank of India branches or through Debit Card, Credit Card and Net Banking. Candidates can also submit the fee by Demand Draft (DD) drawn in favour of ‘Financial Advisor, MCAER, Pune’

Reservation Criteria

Major Criteria:

  • First seats will be allotted to candidates who have passed out from Maharashtra Agricultural Universities.
  • Other seats will be allotted to candidates who have a domicile of Maharashtra and have gained 10 years of academic education from Maharashtra.
  • 2% seats are allotted to students from other States.

Other Criteria:

  • ?30% seats are reserved for Female candidates.
  • 19% seats are reserved for Other Backward Classes.
  • 13% seats are reserved for Schedule Caste.
  • 8% seats are reserved for Nomadic Tribes.
  • 7% seats are reserved for Schedule Tribes.
  • 6% seats are reserved for Agriculturist and Children of Agriculturist who possess minimum qualification or experience in Agriculture.
