SRM University provides very good support to its students for placements. If you have done nothing much in the last four years but have worked quite hard in the CCC training, you can easily bag INR 6 to 7 lakhs per annum. More than 150 different companies visit SRM and offer to begin from INR 3 LPA - 42 LPA. There are also top 4 mass recruiters that include TCS, Wipro, Infosys, and Cognizant. Last year, about 5000 different offers came from these companies. There are also other companies that offer a variety of roles and you can appear for up to 3 to 4 company exams in a day. If you are good at coding with fluent knowledge of it, your chances of getting placed are quite high. You will surely do well. You should sit for the company that is worth your potential as SRM has rules regarding placements. At the end of placement season, you will have about 2 to 3 offers in hand. It depends on the branch or department you are choosing in CUSAT and SRM. Here is the highlight of the recent placement statistics for the institutes. Parameters CUSAT SRM Average CTC 4.96 LPA 10 LPA Highest CTC 18 LPA 35 LPA Top recruiters L&T Infotech, Tata Hitachi, JSW Steel, Infosys, Reliance TCS, Wipro, HCL, TATA Chemicals, KPT If you want to go in Ship Tech, CS and IT, Safety and Fire, then Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) is a better option than SRM. Your preference order should be SRM>Manipal>KIIT. However, you should choose one of these institutes according to your preference and requirements. SRM and Manipal are quite expensive. One of my cousins graduated from SRM University and here are some of the things I got to know from him, regarding your question. To be honest, I do not know how authentic this statement is, as SRM University is as local as a rural university in Uttar Pradesh or Bihar. Out of 3000 staff members, only 6 are from IITs. Most of them are from affiliated self-financing colleges like Anna University. Some of them are from deemed universities like Satyabhama, Vels and Bharath University. Most of the teachers of their management department are from Vinayaka Mission University and Alagappa University. The physics and mathematics staff are from local colleges. The CSE department does not have good teachers, most of them graduated from SRM only. There are also no visiting faculty. Among these, Thapar is the best option. Thapar University has a better brand value. Since the institute takes admission based on merit, the student crowd at Thapar is better. Choose MSIT if you want to prioritize degree value over cost. Otherwise, go with SRM. MSIT CSE placements are excellent, but if you live in a politically neutral environment with large campuses, consider SRM, Chennai. Technical societies, such as IEEE, are very active, and if you are fortunate enough to be a part of them, it is better for you in terms of placement and 'knowledge building. My brother is from SRM, So I think I can give you some insight into the institute. I have visited VelTech and found it to be an unappealing college. And if we talk about SRM for an MBA, then definitely it is a great deal, with so many events encouraging students to broaden their horizons. According to my friend at SRM, the KTR campus of SRM is the best choice. If you consider factors like faculty, placements, and a lot more. The points below will provide you a brief overview of all the institutes stated above and the advantages of SRM over them. SRM University has three campuses, first in Kattankulathur, second in Ramapuram, and third in Vadapalani. The campus in Kattankulathur (KTR) is marked as the best among them. In SRM KTR, will make you a real engineer. It has excellent faculty, provides a lot of on-campus placement opportunities, and is also good in extra-curricular activities. The other two campuses of SRM, Ramapuram, and Vadapalani, are somewhat satisfactory, but not as good as the KTR campus. Talking about the NCR, the campus is quite far away from Delhi, which results in a lot of travel to and from Delhi on weekends. The faculty of NCR is not that good and so students have to be dependent on self-study. The placements are decent because it is held in the Chennai (KTR) campus. But, the NCR campus has much lesser fees than the Chennai campus and so, it is considered better. The Manipal University is called a happening campus, which provides excellent college life, extra-curricular activities, party culture, etc. But, students in Manipal University should be aware of the bad habits on campus and choose friends wisely for the same reason.
