    Banaras Hindu University commonly referred as BHU; formerly known as Central Hindu College is a public central university located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. It was established in 1916 by Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya. It is the only university which has IIT in its campus named IIT (BHU).     BHU UG Admission through UET 2020

    At UG level, BHU proposes various specializations under 10 courses such as BA (Hons), B.Com (Hons), B.Sc (Ag), B.P.Ed, BPA, BFA, B.Sc (Hons), Shastri (Hons), Bachelor of Vocational Programs and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed/B.Ed Special). The duration period depends upon the nature of courses.

    For admission in B.P.Ed and B.Ed, students must possess a graduate degree in relevant discipline. Furthermore, the eligible candidates will have to appear in a common entrance test named Undergraduate Entrance Test (UET) conducted by the university.

    BHU LLB and BA-LLB Admission 2020

    BHU also offers BA.LLB and LLB courses to the aspiring students who want to pursue their career in the field of Law. The duration for BA.LLB and LLB are 5 years and 3 years.

    In order to seek admission in BA.LLB, students must have qualified 10+2 level or equivalent in relevant discipline. The eligible candidates need to appear in the Undergraduate Entrance Test (UET) conducted by the university.

    • The applicant who has obtained 10+2 through open Universities System directly without having any basic qualification for prosecuting such studies shall not be eligible for admission to 5-year B.A. LL.B. (Hons.).
    • The SC/ST candidates seeking admission to LL.B Course/B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) must have scored at least 40% marks in the aggregate considering all the subjects in the Qualifying Examination.
    • For OBC and PC candidates there will be a relaxation of 5% marks in aggregate in the qualifying examination in minimum eligibility requirements, in comparison to general category candidates.
    • The total number of seats available is 60.

    BHU MBBS/BDS Admission through NEET 2020

    For admission in MBBS or BDS course offered by BHU one has to clear the NEET exam. After that the he/she has to participate in MCC Counselling where he/she can choose BHU as their choice. The minimum eligibility for the MBBS/BDS course is 50% marks in 10+2 with PCB and English (40% for reserved categories). Minimum age for the general category candidate is 17 years (5 years relaxation for reserved catogories).

    BHU PG Admission through PET 2020

    BHU offers several courses like Acharya, MA, MPA and MBA in various specializations at PG level. The duration for each of the courses is two years. Admission in the above-mentioned courses is based on the marks scored in Postgraduate Entrance Test (PET) conducted by the university.

    BHU Application Process 2020

    Students are advised to follow the below-mentioned steps, in order to apply for the courses offered by the University.

    1. Candidates need to visit the official website of BHU or the entrance test portal.
    2. Candidates need to fill up the form ONLINE.
    3. Application fee has to be made either ONLINE through net-banking or credit/debit card, or in cash through Challan in any branch of HDFC Bank.
    4. Application fee is INR 500 for GEN/OBC category students and INR 250 for SC/ST/PH candidates
    5. For MBA and MBA (IB), the application fee is INR 1500 for GEN/OBC category students  and INR 800 for SC/ST students
    6. In case the candidate makes application for more than one course, the application fee for each subsequent application shall be INR 200 and INR 100 for GEN/OBC candidates and ST/SC/PH candidates respectively

    BHU Reservation Process 2020

    •  15% & 7.5% seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates in each course respectively.
    • 27% Reservation to candidates belonging to OBC category (excluding under creamy layer) will be provided in different courses
    • 3% seats shall be reserved for Physically Challenged Candidates: Visually Impaired (1%)+ Hearing Impaired (1%) + Orthopaedically Handicapped (1%)
    • 15% seats out of total number of seats in M.P.Ed. are allocated for female candidates. In case any such seats remain vacant, these will be filled by male candidates on merit
    • 15% supernumerary seats in all the courses (including special courses) shall be available for the sons/daughters (including married daughters) of permanent employees (including those on probation) of BHU currently in service
    • There is provision for supernumerary “PAID SEATS” (not exceeding 15% of the total number of seats) in certain courses, the details of which will be available at the time of admission from the concerned Faculty/Department. However, no such provision is available for Special Courses
    • Provision to the extent of 15% supernumerary seats for Foreign Nationals exist, out of which 5% seats will be filled up by children of NRIs and 5% by children of Indian workers in Gulf and South Asian Countries.

              Ans. I have a few friends from IIT BHU, here are their insights on the campus life at BHU.  Education: The course list at BHU is a never-ending list to opt from. Due to the easier exam pattern, the burden is less and the chances to pass are high. The degree can be taken easily. However, the syllabus won’t ever get complete on time. Traveling: Varanasi is a prime location and you can visit religious places like Vishwanath Temple, Sankat Mochan and Sarnath, or even the ghats. Sports: The sports facility is the best on the campus and once performed well, the faculty can take the students to play numerous tournaments/matches. The campus is 1300 acre semi-circle. It has 10 times the area of Vatican City. The campus is lush green. There are many tea stalls and canteens available on campus.  There are some famous food joints like Limbdi corner, Dhanrajgiri corner, and CCD.  Overall, life at BHU will be exciting.Read more

I have a few friends from BHU and according to them, the hostel life is quite good.  Mess Food- The mess is on the ground floor and is 3-5 in number with the services of both the veg and non-veg food. The menu changes every day. The quality of food is average and you can also ask the Maharaj to cook something on demand at times. The ‘aloo fry’ remains a constant dish of the mess. Ground availability- For outdoor sports, table tennis, volleyball, and badminton are available in all the hostels and to play the games like cricket or football, a small garden is available. Although, on the campus, special courts and a big playground are provided. Room Conditions- Before living, you will have to clean the room because of the mess created due to the every year paint. The college provides a light holder without lamps, a bed, a chair, and a table, a plug point, and a fan. Ask the warden if anything is damaged. This depicts the hostel life of BHU in brief. Read more

              Ans. For admission to an undergraduate degree in Mathematics, the institution has set a cut-off of 190 marks for General Category students, and a cut-off of 230 for admission to an undergraduate program in Biology. If you are meeting the criteria, you can apply for the counseling process. There is a reservation for a hostel room as well. However, only SC st and PC are available.  There are no reservations for OBCs.  For a hostel, 225+ would be sufficient, depending on the difficulty of the exam paper.  MMV is also available to female students. Their cut-off is roughly 30 points lower than the Institute of Sciences. The most popular combination is PMK and Computer Sc.Hons. You'll need 250 for that. The second most popular course is SMK with a Comp. Science Hons. Then there is PMC and others. Allotment of combinations is heavily influenced by grades. Almost everything could be done with a 250.Read more

              "Good day for internship days"

              My collage is my favorite things and favorite place because there is all facilities are available . There is good health facilities and good medicine and also good doctor there is available in 24x7 and there is good library facilities and all books are available in this library and they give free books for read . There is good food quality facilities and mess is too good there is good grounds all the arounds.

              "MMV-BHU"

              Banaras Hindu University is one of the top universities of India. It has special research opportunities for both ug and pg students. The teachers focus on both practical and theoretical knowledge of the students. The examination patterns and teaching patterns are up to the mark and yearly updated to new technologies. The admission criteria is entrance based. UET and PET is conducted for ug and pg students respectively. I preferred this college over others because being a science student, it has the apt research and scientific approach to the topics.
