AKTU Admission 2020: UG, PG, Fees, Cutoff, Eligibility and Selection

AKTU offers the Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree with 41 different specialization. Duration of all the B.Tech courses are four years. UPTU affiliated colleges also accept lateral entry (direct admission in second year) in all the B.Tech courses. The duration for the lateral entry course is three years.

AKTU conducts an entrance exam viz. UPSEE for admission in the B.Tech courses. Applicants should have passed his or her 10+2 level exam with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from any recognized board with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks.

• Relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ST candidates.
• AKTU also accepts 20% of total sanctioned candidates on the basis of JEE Main as per the State Govt. norms.
• For lateral admission, candidates should have minimum 60% of marks in 3-4 years diploma or B.Sc from a recognized university sanctioned by U.P board of education.

Note: Migration to UPTU from any other University is not permitted. However, a student of affiliated college/institution or college enrolled in any other University may be allowed to migrate to the University provided he/she fails.

NRI & Kashmiri Migrants Quota: NRI quota will constitute of 5% of the total available seats. One seat will be offered for Kashmiri migrants (Son/Daughter of Kashmiri Migrants) in each institution.

In addition to B.Tech, AKTU also offers bachelor’s degree in different fields, namely B.Pharm, B.Arch, BHMCT, BFAD and BFA. The durations of B.Pharm, BHMCT, BFAD and BFA are 4 years. B.Pharm lateral entry requires three years to complete the course while B.Arch and MAM dual degree require 5 years duration.

The candidates applying for these courses are required to appear for an entrance exam conducted by AKTU. Candidates interested in B.Pharm and B.Arch should have a minimum of 50% marks in the 10+2 level examination.

AKTU also offers the M.Tech course with specializations in 19 different subjects along with the M.Arch course. The duration of all the specialized M.Tech courses and M.Arch courses are four years and two years respectively.

Candidates should have passed their bachelor of engineering (B.E) or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate and must possess a valid GATE score. Those belonging to SC, ST, PwD categories must score at least 54% marks in aggregate. Candidates should be at least 16 years old to be eligible to enroll for M.Tech program.

Candidates are intimated for the counselling process for M.Tech admission on the basis of GATE scores, AKTU entrance examination scores as well as qualifying degree examination marks, subject to availaibility of seats.

AKTU offers MCA, MBA and MAM and MCA dual degree courses. The course duration for Master of Computer Application and the Master of Business Administration degrees is three years. MCA is of two years.

Admission to all these courses are through UPSEE, an entrance examination conducted by AKTU to get admission in the university. The final merit list is prepared considering the marks obtained in the entrance examination as well as in their previous qualifying examination.

AKTU also offers the M.Pharm course leading to a Master’s degree in pharmacy. The duration for M.Pharm is four years. Candidates should have achieved a bachelor degree in the relevant discipline from a recognized university. Admission to the M.Pharm course is purely based on the merit of the candidates in their qualifying degree examination.

Note: Preference will be given to GATE qualified candidates over candidates who are not GATE qualified.

Ph.D programmes are offered by AKTU in various specializations. Admission to the Ph.D. course is through a written entrance test followed by the interview round. The final merit list is prepared considering the performance of the candidates in the written test and interview along with the marks obtained by them in their previous qualifying examination.

Ph.D Selection Process: Students will be selected on the basis of their performance in the written test followed by interview cum presentation.

1. Non-refundable fee (as prescribed)
2. Class 10th certificate in support of Date of Birth certificate
3. SC/ST/OBC certificate (if applicable)
4. No Objection Certificate from the current employer (if applicable)
5. Certificate of financial assistance along with publications.
6. Synopsis of proposed research work or thesis
7. Two copies of detailed CV of the supervisor.
8. Two letters of reference.

Documents required at the time of Admission: After the interview round, shortlisted students have to present the following documents after the selection committee:

Ph.D Application Form: Candidates seeking admission to Ph.D prohgramme can apply by visiting the official website of UPTU. AKTU offers Ph.D admission once in a year (i.e. in July/August session).

Students can apply in both Online or offline mode. For offline mode, application form can be downloaded from the official website of UPTU. Application form must be filled & required to be sent to the University address with all the desired documents. In the case of online application form, students can directly fill & pay the desired application fee.

Note: The final application form received, may be verified by the screening committee constituted by the Vice chancellor of the University.

AKTU, formerly UPTU conducts UP State Entrance Examination (UPSEE) to provide admission in various Government Aided, Private Unaided institutions affiliated to UPTU. UPSEE is conducted for B.Tech, B.Arch, BHMCT, BFAD, BFA, MBA, MCA & MAM programmes along with the lateral entry. Students can follow the below-mentioned steps in order to fill an online application form:

1. Visit the official website of UPSEE.
2. Click on the Application link of desired course.
3. Now register by providing details such as name, email id, mobile number, etc. 
4. Also, create a password for future login during registration time and click on the ‘Submit’ button.
5. Upon successful registration, you will receive a registration number on email id and mobile number.
6. Using the password and registration number proceed to fill the application form with every single detail.
7. Upload scanned images of photograph and signature.
8. Now pay the application fee via Debit Card/ Credit Card/ Net Banking.
9. On payment, you will receive a message of successful payment on email id as well as mbile number.

Application Fee: The application fee is INR 1300 for Male/ Transgender candidates of General and OBC category while it is INR 650/- for SC/ST and Female/ Physically Handicapped candidates of all categories.

AKTU offers financial assistance to meritorious students of SC/ST & OBC category under the regulations of UP State Scholarship scheme. Every year, UP state releases the notification for fee reimbursement for the students of AKTU & its affiliated colleges. Students studying in the affiliated colleges of AKTU can register themselves for the fee waiver through Scholarship & Fee Reimbursement online system of UP state.

New students can register online for UPTU Scholarship by visiting the official portal designed for fee reimbursement procedure. Existing students can also check their status by following the below-mentioned steps:

1. Visit the official page of UP State scholarship.
2. In the main menu, click on Student ->Login (After Registration) -> Post metric course.
3. Click on either Fresh inside state option or Fresh outside state option (according to your preference) otherwise click on ‘Renewal’ (Inside or Outside state)
