Actually here I like Monash because environment is too friendly even now we have access to our heads like dean and whereas concerned the facilities Monash give a lot of facilities even now we have you can see the COVID 19 situation they are providing the online resources like Monash library even we have remote access to our labs like because I want to work on my abacus software so they give us remote access even it is a hard time COVID 19 did not affect our research because they are giving us a lot of facilities. If I am in hurry so I have to do all the work experimental work even so they give a priority to me and I have to conduct all the experiments.

Campus Life:

Actually I have no experience because I came here in Malaysia one day before lockdown. So due to that we don't have what we say the co curricular activities but they gave us online curricular activity.

work study options in monash university

Monash University allows students to work for both casual and part-time job opportunites while studying in Australia. Students are suggested to work not more than 15 hours a week, if they are a full-time Monash University student. It is considered that working more than 15 hours may affect the balance pf studying while working. However, it is suggeted to go through Australian study visa guidelines for better understanding the duration for which the specific visa type allows you to work. As per the guidelines, an international student with a visa is not allowed to work more than 40 hours a fortnight. Where fortnight is 14 days as of starting on Mondays.

Australia is a great place to work-while study. Here is why:

  • Work place protection offered to international students is same as that offered to any Australian.
  • Irrespective of your job you will be offered a minimum wage pay rate on an hourly basis as per the guidelines of the Australian Government.
  • A strong support is offered to international student workers by both education institute, as well as government and private organizations.

In case planning for holiday work, you can work for unlimited hours. Details on holiday work may vary depending on the Australian student visa subclass. You can search for more information through the immigrations website of the county.

Jobs for Student Program is a specific program at the university for students looking for earn-while-learn opportunitie while pursuing studies at the university. The program majorly offers casual jobs that can help in building employability skills and give you a kick start in your career. The types of jobs available under the program include:

  • Marketing Assistant
  • Service Desk Officer
  • Research Assistant

All it takes for registering for the program is uploading your resume here. Once you have uploaded your resume for Monash’s Jobs for student program wait for an opportunity to arise and connect with the Jobs for students team as soon as one arises.

Monash Univeristy offers an online databases “Career Gateway- an online job portal of Monash”. One can log-in with their Monash account in the portal and find out about the part-time and casual job vacancies. Apart from the univeristy portal, you can also look for jobs through local newpapers, local shopping and business centers, general recruitment agencies, and with the hidden job market.

Hence, it can be concluded that international students who secure admissions with Monash University are offered a fair opportunity to earn-while they learn. Additionally, students looking for voluntary jobs are also offered a plethora of opportunities to work with a variety of charity and non-government organizations.
