Placement:

In Canada, no University does on-campus recruiting. Hence, you need to create contact via Linkedin or other modes. Then try to find the job during 2nd term only as it's gonna take few months. Based on your degree or previous experience you might land to good or avg job. Avg job may pay around 50-60k.

The admission process was not that difficult. Steps to follow or I followed: 1. Research what and where you want to study. 2. If necessary (for MS) reach out to different professors to get more details or get scholarships or TA or if the professor is accepting any research students or not 3. Give IELTS or other English exams (you can check based on University as some doesn't accept IELTS only, where you may need to seat for the different exam as well) 4. Based on your score - choose University & check the admissions process and all required documents. 5. Gather all the documents and apply.

Yes, there are various opportunities available. Some students are Teaching Assistants- as graduate students, you can make up to $43 CAD for 1 hour of instruction. Other students work jobs across campus- for example, they may be administrative assistants or work in the cafeteria and they make minimum wage as determined by the province of Ontario. Typically, thesis based students are provided funding from the school approximating $19,400 annually, and Teaching Assistantships account for some of that amount. Course-based students are usually not funded.

I previously completed my bachelors degree at McMaster University in Honours Life Sciences with a minor in Biochemistry (2018). The admissions process consisted of marks from the final year of undergraduate studies, an academic CV, a personal statement, and 2 letters of reference from academic/research supervisors, and application fee was $100. I only applied to one Master's program. My final year GPA was 3.96 on 4.00 scale.

The average pay depends on the type of job. As a teaching assistant, I used to earn $43/hr and as a food assistant, it was 14/hr which is base pay. The job opportunities provided is completely dependable on your past experiences and confidence.

I enjoy the size of the campus which is relative to a medium sized campus. It is easily navigatable during the first week of school. The furthest classes were only an 8-minute walk which was absolutely perfect because you could go back to back classes with no problem. I also opted for this University because I believed they had a great Commerce program and it would help me reach my career goal of doing something in the Finance area.

Yes, they were helpful with the application process and throughout the internship. It was a 16-month internship which is a great option to really integrate into the company and learn a lot. The school helped us with applying.

It had an internship program and was a good distance from my house. I loved the look and feel of the campus. It was a big campus but still felt cozy because of the way the buildings looked. I read good things about the school on the internet and was highly ranked in the province and country.

Internship:

McMaster University does provide an optional co-op for engineering students, where students are pushed to either find internships on their own or through the OSCARPLUS website, which hosts numerous job postings that co-op students can apply to. 4,8,12, and 16-month co-op's are all options for co-op students.

It was the closest to my top choice that I was accepted to, behind Waterloo and U of T. It was third out of my seven choices because it had a co-op engineering program, which I found to be very important, and that it was rising in the school rankings nationwide.
