Mar Athanasius College of Engineering is an engineering institution located in central Kerala. The college is managed by Mar Athanasius College Association and has been aided by the Government of Kerala. It was also the first engineering college to get affiliated by the Mahatma Gandhi University. MACE, as it is popularly known, has grown by leaps and bounds since. It now has six full-fledged departments apart from the two auxiliary departments of Mathematics and Humanities & Science.

MACE Campus Facilities

The campus is spread over 25.3 hectares of land. The built-up area is 12765.51 sq.m which comprises instructional, administrative and amenities. A large area of 14036.7 sq.m. is being occupied by the workshops and laboratories. The various playgrounds take up an area of around 20000 sq.m. Following are the facilities that students can enjoy in the college: 

  1. Library: The college has a well-furnished digital library that looks after the needs of the students. It has a collection of more than 75000 books with the latest periodicals, journals and technical papers. The library subscribes to different dailies besides other informative magazines. Students can get the photocopies or soft copies of the study materials for further reference.
  2. Digital Classroom: The institute uses digitalized teaching methodology by using video programs in the area of higher education research. 
  3. Hostel: MACE has the facility for both boys and girls with separate buildings. Boys hostel can accommodate more than 200 students whereas the hostel for girls has 350 intakes.
  4. Extracurricular facility: The campus is well equipped with facilities for arts and cultural events. The main auditorium has a capacity for 500 audiences in a floor area of 400m2. Important functions and meetings of students are organized there. An open-air theatre is located at the heart of the campus. It has an audience capacity of 1500 and spread over an area of 2000m2. This is the main stage for annual arts festival and cultural meets. An indoor stadium is also available with a capacity of more than 3000 audiences for conducting cultural and sports events.
