Government College of Arts Chandigarh Admission

Admissions at the college are entrance-based for BFA and Diploma, whereas, admission to the MFA and Advance Diploma is based on merits. Candidates are required to appear for the aptitude test for the BFA and Diploma admission.

Government College of Arts Chandigarh Aptitude Test

The aptitude test for admission is conducted by the college itself. The test consists of Object drawing and general knowledge of the student. The cut off for the admission is as follows:

Admission to MFA and Advance Diploma is merit-based. The students are required to pay an application fee of INR 500 along with all the required documents. Students are shortlisted for admission on the basis of a portfolio of work and marks in the previous qualifying examination. 

  • 60% Weightage is given to the portfolio of work of the student and 40% weightage is given to the merits in the previous qualifying examination.

Government College of Arts Chandigarh Scholarship

The institute offers two scholarships to students pursuing various courses at the university. One is the Merit Scholarship and the other is Merit-cum-Means Scholarship. These scholarships are for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th-year students. No 1st-year student is eligible for the scholarship.

  • Merit Scholarship: The merit scholarship is given to the top 5% of students who score more than 60% marks in the last qualifying examination. An amount of INR 65 is given to each student per month.
  • Merit-cum-Means Scholarship: This scholarship is given to the top 10% of students of the class who score 60% marks in the last qualifying examination. Another condition for this scholarship is that the annual income of the parents of these students should not exceed INR 9000. Students are awarded INR 100 per month under this scholarship.
