Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Chandigarh was established in the year 1956. The college has been validated by the University Grants Commission and the college has been accredited with an ‘A’ grade. The college motive is to “Courage to Know” inspires the students to strive for and seek that which is best in thought, word and deed.

The college offer graduation courses & Post-Graduate courses are offers in six subjects and though these courses are relatively new, the students have fared very well in the university examinations. Every academic year the students win a number of merit positions in the Punjab University examinations. In addition to this the students excel in various extra-curricular activities, bringing home prizes and trophies from inter-college and inter-university competitions.
