How to Apply?

  • Visit the official website.
  • Register using an active mail email address.
  • Log in using the credentials sent to the registered mail ID. 
  • Fill in the application form with the required details.
  • Upload the scanned copies of the required documents- X and XII Board scores, passport size photograph, signature, scorecard of the entrance examination.
  • Enter the score of the qualifying examination (SAT/ ACT/ UGAT/ JSAT)
  • Pay the application fee.
  • Click on ‘Submit’.

Selection Criteria

There are three rounds of selection of the candidates. They are:

  • Round 1: Candidates submit the form and then submit a personal statement of about 300 words which is a short reflective piece and applicants are required to answer at least three supplemental questions. The 10 and 10+2 examination scores are taken into consideration.
  • Round 2: Candidates need to appear for an interview with a member of the faculty of their respective schools. Further, candidates who did not appear for SAT/ACT are required to appear for JSAT.
  • Round 3: Candidates who qualify Round 2 will be sent a provisional offer of Admission. Students are required to pay the Registration Refundable Fee.

  • Food Courts: The college has a world class Food Court – “Biswamil Bistro” reflecting the global aspirations and Indian traditions. Outlets at this food court provide multi cuisine options through brands such as Subway, Burger Point, 34 Chowringhee Lane, Street Food by Punjab Grill, Bercos, Moti Mahal, Domino’s Pizza, Breakfast Round the Clock {BRC} & Keventers. A wide range of Vegetarian and Non-vegetarian food options are thus available for the benefit of the Students, Faculty, Staff and Guests/Visitors.
  • Global Library: The Library has a collection of about 48000 print volumes and an array of electronic resources. The print collection includes books, monographs, research reports, law reports, and back volumes of periodicals etc. In addition to professional reading the library provides a good amount of leisure reading and books for soft skills development. All subjects related to the University’s academic and research programmes have been included in the collection. Print resources of the Library have been divided into General Collection, and Reference Collection.
  • Health Care: The university has a permanent health centre with all essential equipment and assistance available for students. It has separate male and female wards, consultation rooms, physiotherapy treatment rooms, counselling rooms, etc. It has a strong team of qualified medical practitioners including four doctors, eight nursing staff, two physiotherapists, two student counsellors to provide all the necessary health care services. Specialist doctors who specialize in ENT, Gynecology, Orthopedics etc. visit the health centre once a month to provide specialized consultation services at the Campus. A full-time medical residential medical officer and nurses are on duty 24×7. The on-campus pharmacy near the Health Centre is open all days. 
  • Sports Facilities: Sports and fitness activities are an integral component of JSLH. Under the supervision of qualified coaches and instructors, the students indulge in practice sessions in order to fulfill their aspirations of wearing university colors/jerseys. It provides a full fledged Department of Physical Education which provides facilities in Cricket, Basketball, Football, Badminton (Indoor), Swimming etc. Special Sessions of Yoga, Dance and Aerobics are also organized for students and staff members. Special emphasis is laid on improving not only the health component and lifestyle but also to instill the qualities of team cohesion and sportsman-spirit.

Ques. Does JSLH provide hostel facilities for the students?

Ans. Yes, the college provides hostel facilities for the students. There are corridors, open spaces and common rooms within each block. There are separate blocks for male and female students with aesthetically furnished rooms. In addition, the campus provides recreational facilities including a gymnasium and other indoor and outdoor games. The surroundings are fully landscaped with lawns, bushes and trees.

Ans. All students in JSLH have the option of going for a semester abroad in their 5th semester. This opportunity is available with partner universities. In addition, several summer and winter short term programmes are available through JGU, such as Oxford-JGU winter programme in Politics, Philosophy, Economics (PPE) etc. Some of the International Partners are Trinity College Dublin, University College Utrecht, International College of Liberal Arts, Yamanashi Gakuin University, University of Bologna, Deakin University, Carleton University, Memorial University of Newfoundland, Comillas Pontificia, University of British Columbia, Sciences Po, Paris Oxford University, University of Granada and many more.

Ans. JSLH accepts applications from NRI and International students from all over the world. However, the college does not provide any NRI quota and all applicants are judged on the same basis of merit.

Ques. Does JSLH provide scholarships?

Ans. Yes. The college provides Merit cum Means Scholarships (MCM) every year. The MCM Scholarship covers the tuition fee only. Scholarship applications will be opened by the University by 20 July and will be awarded to eligible students in August. The eligibility criteria includes annual family income, and graduation score and faculty interview score.
