Course Details

In B.Ed. course of BKGC, candidates who have done graduation with at least 50% marks are eligible to apply.

Of the total seats for B.Ed course, 50% are for deputed candidates and the rest are for freshers. Deputed candidates are those who are teaching in classes V to XII only. Selection of Deputed will be made on the basis of the period of approved services in the School.

In case applicants having equal service in Secondary School, preference will be given to the candidates having higher and better Academic Qualifications.

For selection to B.Ed. course, different weight age is given to different qualifying exams and final admission is given by combining all i.e. Total Grade marks.

Key points to remember for B.Ed. Admission:

  • 20% seats are reserved for other University (Other than University of Calcutta) candidates. This type of reservation is applicable only for the fresher candidates.
  • Maximum permissible age for a fresher candidate is 40 years (as on June 30, 2020) and relaxation of age for maximum five-year for students belonging SC/ST/ PWD.
  • There is No age bar for a deputed candidate.
  • Candidates pursuing any other Course of Studies (Regular Degree)/Job/Service/Fulltime Research Work will not be allowed to pursue this course simultaneously.
