JIPMER 2023 Eligibility Criteria for MBBS & BDS, Age Limit and Reservation

Every candidate appearing for JIPMER to take admission in MBBS or BDS course must know the admission criteria of JIPMER 2023. However, the exam has now been merged with NEET 2023 so candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria prescribed by NTA.

What are the requirements for JIPMER 2023 Eligibility?

The following criteria need to be fulfilled by the candidates to get admission for their selected course in JIPMER 2023. 

Nationality

This the first and the foremost criteria that must be known to the aspirant applying for the courses.

  • The candidate must be an Indian Citizen. 
  • The candidates who are NRI or Non-Resident Indian are need to be registered under Section 7A of Citizenship Act 1955. It is also required to present or show their registration proof as OCI or Overseas Citizen of India while submitting the application form of JIPMER 2023. 
  • The candidates from NRI or OCI category will have to submit the eligibility certificate issued by The Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi. 
  • In the matter of the candidates of Foreign Nationals, it is needed to grant the permission from the Medical Council of India.

Age

This is also an important criterion that should be followed by every applicant seeking for admission into JIPMER 2023.

  • The aspirant is eligible to complete the admission process when they are at the age of 17 minimum
  • The candidate who belongs to reserved category such as SC/ST/OBC etc is not allowed to get any relaxation.
  • The institute does not offer any age relaxation for both general and reserved candidates

Academic Qualification

This is the most important criteria that must be followed by every candidate who wants to pursue the course for JIPMER 2023. 

  • The candidate needs to have passed their 10+2 from a recognised board or any other higher secondary examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination successfully with minimum 50% marks in aggregate.
  • Applicants are needed to qualify their final exam with the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology in science stream.
  • Candidates who belong to general category should have secured a minimum 50% marks in aggregate and the applicant who belongs to a reserved category like OBC, SC, ST, OPH must secure minimum 40% marks in aggregate in their exam. 
  • For the applicant who are from general and OPH category and have got 45% of marks in aggregate with the subjects Physics, Chemistry Biology/Biotechnology, JIPMER 2023 Admission Process is open to them.

Other Criteria 

  • Apart from the above-mentioned criteria the candidate is going to appear for JIPMER 2023 Exam should have followed the below mentioned criteria as well.
  • The applicant who has appeared for the final year exam in 10+2 in the year of 2023 and waiting for the result to come can apply for the course.
  • The candidates who are going to appear for the final year exam in March or April in 2023 are also eligible to apply for the course.
  •  An applicant must follow all the above-mentioned criteria for JIPMER 2023 Exam.

JIPMER MBBS entrance examination test is comparably easier than NEET. You need to focus on Biology while preparing for the examination. For this section, often questions come out of NCERT. Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research conducts JIPMER MBBS. NEET is a common test for all medical aspirants trying to secure admission to govt medical colleges. Earlier AIIMS was conducted for AIIMS MBBS. But it has been scrapped and AIIMS takes admission based on NEET scores.  The examination pattern of JIPMER is different than NEET.
