National Institutional Ranking Framework also known as NIRF is a methodology adopted by the Indian government to rank top Education institutions in India. Top Medical Colleges in Haryana: India Today Ranking 2022

India Today is one of the leading and well-reputed English news magazines in India which is published by Living Media India Limited every week. The Marketing & Development Research Associates (MDRA), a marketing and research firm from Delhi and India Today, conducts a college ranking survey. It ranked Indian colleges in fields like Science, Arts, Commerce, Management, Engineering, etc.

The weightage of various parameters based on which India Today ranks a college is tabulated below:

India Today has released a list of top medical colleges in India. The list includes 53 top private and government medical colleges in India. Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences SGT University Gurugram is the only top medical college in Haryana that has secured a place in the list released by India Today 2022. The institute is ranked 42 among the top medical colleges in India.

Top Medical Colleges in Haryana: Cutoff

The top MBBS colleges in India accept the score of only the NEET exam. Earlier, admissions in AIIMS institutes were done through the AIIMS exam but it has been scrapped now. Given below are the cutoff for top medical colleges in Haryana for different courses in the past years.

Top Medical Colleges in Haryana: Admission Process

Out of the total 66 colleges, there are 41 private and 25 government medical colleges in Haryana. These colleges offer MBBS in general specialization and also offer master's courses in almost 50 specializations.

Admissions to these colleges are done based on the NEET exam for UG courses and NEET PG and NEET MDS-like exams for other master's medical courses. The NEET exam is the sole criterion for admission to any top medical college in India now. However, some private colleges and institutes still conduct their approved medical entrance exams.

PGIMS Rohtak

PGIMS Rohtak is one of the top medical colleges in Haryana and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

• The institute was founded in 1960 as a Medical College, in Rohtak. It is the only major institute which offers medical education, research and a tertiary care centre.
• With several years of development now, the institute has transformed into a fully furnished and equipped centre for medical education and research. The institute got its new name Pt. BD Sharma Medical College, Rohtak in 1994 and was further upgraded to PGIMS Rohtak in 1995.

• The institute accepts NEET scores to shortlist candidates for admission in various courses.

Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College (KCGMC), Karnal

Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College (KCGMC), Karnal is another top government medical college named after the famous astronaut Kalpana Chawla in Haryana.

• The institute was established by the government of Haryana to cater to the requirement for professional medical education among the youth.
• The medical college and hospital are stretched over an area of more than 50 acres. The college is well furnished and well equipped.

Maharishi Markandeshwar Institute of Medical Sciences and Research is one of the top private medical colleges in Haryana. The institute is recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI).

• Earlier students got their degrees from Kurukshetra University, but now the degrees are awarded by Maharishi Markandeshwar (Deemed to be University).
