Chandigarh University is a full-fledged university established by the Punjab State Legislature and is recognized by the University Grants Commission.

CU conducts semester examinations twice a year. Even the Semester examination is conducted in May and the Odd semester examination is conducted in December. Results for the semester examinations are published within 1-2 months. For a few postgraduate courses, CU conducts annual exams.  Chandigarh University releases its results for UG, PG program at its official results website.

Each student has to use their unique user ID provided by the university in order to log in and check their results and apply for registration, revaluation, admit card download, etc.  It conducts two-semester examinations in an academic year for different programs. Throughout the semester it conducts two hourly tests as internal assessments. By the end of the semesters, a schedule for practical examination is notified to the students, followed by a Theory examination.

How to check the Chandigarh University Result 2023?

CU conducts semester examinations twice a year. Even the Semester examination is conducted in May and the Odd semester examination is conducted in December. Results for the semester examinations are published within 1-2 months. For a few postgraduate courses, CU conducts annual exams. 

All the results are published on the Official Results website of Chandigarh University. Students need to follow the following steps in order to know their result and download it:

  • Click on the official Results website of Chandigarh University
  • Enter the unique user ID and click Submit
  • Clicking on which student's account will appear on the screen. 
  • Click on the results tab and download the online PDF of the mark sheet 
  • Take a printout if it is for the immediate need of reference. 

Chandigarh University Result - Evaluation Method

Chandigarh University followed scientific, objective, and transparent methods of evaluation of semester examinations. The evaluation method of the examination is done by combining two assessments:

  • Internal Assessment
  • External Assessment

Internal assessment includes two hourly tests, mid-term tests, surprise tests, quiz tests, and assignments. External Assignment is being held at the end of the semester. Combining both the assessment the final assessment of the student is made. There are three segments, Unit 1, 2, and 3 in each semester for performance evaluation

In practical subjects, students are asked to complete their experiments and each of them is evaluated on the basis of a few parameters. The below-mentioned table will give you information regarding the parameters and their weights;

  • Total marks will be calculated out of 45. 15 marks will be allotted for internal practical tests which will be held twice during the semester 
  • The first practical test will be carrying 5 marks and be conducted when 1/3d of the practicals of the semester are completed, 
  • The second practical test will be held after the completion of 2/3rd of all the practicals and it will carry 10 marks. 
  • The total internal assessment will be done by summing the marks obtained by individual practical and through the practical test, out of 60 (45+15)

During the external practical examination, a viva voce will be conducted in the presence of an internal and external examiner. The below-mentioned table has the information regarding the parameters and their marks considered for the external practical examination:

  • The total marks obtained in both internal and external examinations will be summed up and grades will be allocated accordingly. The final grades will be disposed of along with the SGPA during the time of result declaration, 

Chandigarh University Result - Grading Scheme

Students’ total performance including mid-semester exams, tests, quizzes, laboratory evaluation, tutorial work, seminars, home assignments, and end-semester examination will be considered while evaluating.

Undergraduate students with a CGPA of more than 4.0 and postgraduate students with more than 4.5 are promoted to the next semester. If the student has any doubts about the allocated grades they can apply for revaluation or totaling. 

Chandigarh University Revaluation Procedure

In case of revaluation, students will be shown their evaluated answer scripts and then they will be asked to sign the agreement for revaluation. 

If the students want it to be reevaluated, an evaluation review board will assess it with an application fee for it. The decision of the evaluation review board will be considered final.

 If there is any increase of marks of up to 10% and more, then the entire application fee for the revolution will be refunded back to the student.
