The world is slowly and steadily becoming a very unhealthy place to live in. From air pollution to soil pollution we have contaminated air, water, and soil. Over the years we have exploited our environment so much that now it has become a harder place to live in. For this purpose, the Government of India initiated a program Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan. This is one program that is induced in the curriculum of every educational institute.

One such institution is Bharath Institute of Higher Education and Research (BIHER Chennai). The institute recently conducted ‘Swachh Bharat Rally’ which started from the university campus. The rally was conducted around the city to educate people about the importance of environmental cleanliness. National Cadet Corps carried various slogans of ‘Clean India, Green India’, ‘Be a part of the solution and part of the pollution’, ‘Go green to breathe clean’, and many more.

About Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan

Prime Miniter of India Shri Narendra Modi started this drive as a nationwide cleanliness campaign. Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi always dreamed of a clean India, and that's the reason behind launching it on his 145th birth anniversary. Educational institutes around the country have taken up the responsibility to teach their students about the importance of cleanliness in day to day life. Along with this, they have also decided to enlighten the society too. They spread awareness through rallies, by organizing nukkad natak and by using other traditional forms of media.
