What is the program that you are offering in your department for students' benefit?

“M.Sc. (Physics), B. Sc. (H) Physics and B. Sc is offered for our students”

The courses that we are offering in our department at VGU, Jaipur are M.Sc. (Physics), B. Sc. (H) Physics, and B. Sc. We get the students to enrol for the Swayam courses. Under this, they can learn not only the theory but also acquire the necessary practical application-based skills. So, as soon as students complete the credits they are awarded the B.Sc Honors Degree.

What are the factors that make this program the best for the students to opt for?

“Smart campus, digital learning and blended mode of learning”

We follow a blended learning model in our department. The students can be well-groomed with theory knowledge, understanding of the concepts and interacting with teachers and faculty. Also, we have a smart campus where we have access to digital learning and students can access classes within one hour of being delivered.

What will you say are the “best practices” in the course you’re offering?

“Laboratory training, hands-on workshops and concept-based learning”

We ensure that the students are getting hands-on experience and not only chalk and talk. To solve their doubts, if any, students are taken to the laboratories for a practical explanation. These practices ensure that students understand the taught concepts well enough to apply.

How does the program ensure that students are being prepared for the future?

“Student presentations, group discussions, projects and internships”

We plan ahead in the sense that as soon as the students complete their education in 3 or 2 years’ time, they should be employable or ready to pursue higher studies. We start the soft skills training like presentations, group discussions, projects, internships, seminars for the students from the 3rd Semester itself. This enables them to be well prepared for placements.

What is the faculty's approach to delivering this program to students?

“Interactive pedagogy to keep students engaged throughout the course”

Depending on the students' interests, we have two different ways to deliver the programme. Lecture is the first method, followed by interaction. We offer virtual/live consultations for students to clear their doubts simultaneously, as well as recordings of the consultations.
