Exclusive initiatives such as expert sessions, workshops, webinars, industry interactions, industrial visits help sharpen personal understanding and skills. GITAM aims to be among the top hundred academic institutions globally by 2040 and has initiated several efforts towards this end - one of them being the GITAM Career Guidance that offers students a platform to pursue their passion and develop their interests into a lucrative career. The training helps students discover their career choices post-college education and foray into various streams, including higher studies in India or overseas, research and innovation, family business, entrepreneurship, and competitive examinations.

  • Career Counselling and Mentoring: The Career Guidance Centre supports students to choose their careers from the first day of their college. At the same time, mentors and counsellors provide training and guidance to help navigate their academic and career pursuits. This presents a platform for students to discuss the different career avenues that align with the subject of their choice.
  • Alternate Career Program: The need to evolve with the fast-transitioning career scope is much required for students to stay relevant. To cope up with this, students at GITAM are supported through Other Career Options (OCO), a strategic initiative of GITAM Career Guidance Centre that provides help with - Defence Services, Research, and Consultancy, higher education abroad, Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examination, pursuing family business, among others.

Blended Learning

Partnership with e-learning platforms such as Moodle and Coursera with over 4200+ courses. The COVID–19 pandemic has established the need for virtual classrooms and set the tone for the future of learning. Blended learning is now considered one of the best ways of learning in the education industry. The education can be delivered both online as well as offline mode. Both modes are just awesome in their way. The student controls the time, place, path, and pace of learning. This method allows the teacher to understand and cater to the student's different needs and learning ways. It provides flexibility for learners to choose and master a course.

These corporate-sponsored courses also help the students in achieving placement in reputed organizations. The university is working hard to ensure they have the perfect infrastructure to make blended learning accessible to all. GITAM has three campuses – in Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru – each houses multiple institutes that offer specialized education. The sprawling green spaces are very safe and have round-the-clock security to provide a secure learning environment for students.

Venture Development Centre (VDC)

Venture Development Centre (VDC) acts as an incubation centre for the different types of startups and an abode for various entrepreneurship activities. It aims to help students develop their innovative ideas and convert them into full-fledged Prototypes and then finally into a meaningful venture by offering immense guidance & mentorship throughout the startup journey.

A series of initiatives are currently initiated to provide the skills and knowledge required to think entrepreneurially, allowing students to test their prowess. An end-to-end entrepreneurship ecosystem that is designed to help students become entrepreneurs. You don't have to choose between earning a degree or starting a business. You should be able to do both simultaneously.

This is facilitated through the entrepreneurs' clubs. We have put together coaching teams and set up a mentor network, a seed fund grant, a design studio, and a prototyping lab. We are bringing incubators and accelerators and the pre-incubation service that we provide.  Various events like workshops, boot camps, ideations, speaker series, chai chats, among others, are done to build a holistic entrepreneurship ecosystem.

Sports

To make the students' lives comfortable, the campuses of the FIRM have a Directorate of Student Life (DSL), where the student representatives from the various student communities work with the academics and administration in partnership to handle all the aspects of Campus life. They focus on sports and hospitality to create a harmonious living atmosphere on campus.

Keeping the COVID-19 situation in mind, Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management has also done tie-ups with an online emotional wellness platform named YourDOST to offer premium mental health support to the students who need it.
