What keeps you connected with the education sector and how has your experience been so far with the institute?

"My devotion of educating youths has kept me associated"

I have always had a passion for teaching thus after completing my masters I joined the teaching industry. I joined MGU one year ago and now it's my second year here. And if I talk about the experience with the institute, then so far it is very great. Students here are very curious and hard working. Faculties are also very passionate about teaching students.

What are your roles and responsibilities towards the students?

"To guide faculty and students and contribute in curriculum planning"

Being the Head of Department, my daily responsibilities include a wide variety of academic and non-academic activities. Academic tasks include keeping department's faculties and students updated with the latest trends and technology of the industrial world. My main aim is that they should not lag behind due to unavailability of any kind of opportunities, hence I make sure that I mentor them properly as and when required. I am also involved in planning the curriculum to make sure it is up to date to make students industry ready. Apart from this, collecting student feedback, communicating and monitoring the faculties to fill the gap also comes under the ambiance.

Which extracurricular activities are organized in college to enhance the skills of students?

"We offer research summits, industrial trainings and celebrate National days"

We organize various research conventions for our students and encourage them to take part in research activities related to recent tech topics and also to come up with new ideas. Additionally, national days like Republic day, Independence Day and Gandhi Jayanti celebration are also celebrated. Next we conduct sports events to keep them physically fit. Lastly, to establish students' direct connection with the industrial world, we invite industry experts to talk on the latest trending subjects via programs like webinars, because we strive for the overall development of our students.

How does the curriculum of your institute ensure the future preparedness of students?

"It includes real world projects, industrial visits and latest language courses"

As an HOD, I want my students to be industry ready when they pass out from our college. Hence we give them various real world problems in the form of assignments and projects and encourage them to find solutions for the same. Apart from this, we arrange training and professional visits in MNCs to make them familiar with the corporate world. We also include the latest programs like Python, Advanced Angular in our curriculum on a regular basis and arrange special classes to get students well acquainted with these languages. Lastly, to make them placement ready, we offer various kinds of personality development training and also provide classes to interested students for preparation of entrance examinations like GATE.

How do you bring in a practical and industry oriented approach towards subjects?

"By conducting experiments in our labs and focusing more on practical learning"

I believe teaching only theoretical concepts to students is not enough and gaining practical knowledge is equally required to strengthen their concepts. Thus, we conduct various experiments in well-equipped labs of our college to ensure students do the software coding, testing, implementation, debugging and analysis as per real world working scenario. This also ensures that when they will start working for MNCs, they will have an upper hand in terms of work.

What are the approaches you use apart from the curriculum to teach students?

"I take students assessment in the form of feedback, quizzes and competitions"

Apart from curriculum, I take feedback from my students on how the subject is being taught to them, to ensure whether they are on the right path or need a correction in their learning journey. And to continuously monitor them, I take quizzes and small practical tests to know what is lacking and what needs to be updated. Lastly, we upgrade our curriculum on a regular basis not to miss industrial needs and encourage our students to take part in various competitions to enhance their skills.

What do you see as the greatest strengths of your institute?

"Our firmness lies in our education, students, faculty and infrastructure"

There are actually multiple things and persons who make us strong, but our greatest strength is definitely our students. They are very good in academics and always curious to explore the opportunities provided to them. We also have a team of highly qualified faculties who keep pushing our students to do their best. Obviously, all these are supplemented by our well developed infrastructure, labs, industry connection and placement facilities.

Any suggestions which you would like to give to the current youth and aspiring students?

"Don't stick at one place, keep upgrading and exploring new opportunities"

I firmly believe that youth and students should be goal oriented and work hard to achieve their goals. They should not focus only on studies, but on their overall growth and personality development. Also I would advise them not to stick to one thing, keep updating yourself with the current industry trends and explore new languages from wherever you find resources.
