Faculty: Teachers here are very helpful and willing to assist you in your academic and personal problems.
The overall institute is not bad, but the exams are entirely based and studied for the semester assessments and internals. It is far less helpful if you intend to import anything for your profession. Exposure is even smaller and the faculty has more practical expertise than Theoretical Knowledge.
Hope the details discussed above would help the students to acknowledge the college.

The campus of IIT Bhubaneswar is quite impressive. The campus is set-up in a lush green area at the foothill of Barunei far away from the main city. The climate is moderate and provides a conducive environment for students. The campus is well divided into separate Academic and Residential(Hostel) sections. The campus is sprung across a vast area and is probably among the largest IIT campuses. Hostel facilities are very good and provide separate rooms for each student. Furthermore, the food provided in the mess is hygienic and is also of adequate quality. Apart from academics, the institute also provides students with ample opportunities in recreation through sports, almost all sports facilities are available for students. The institute also conducts many annual fests throughout the whole year. These provide students with opportunities to showcase their talents across various fields. The departmental labs have been updated with the latest testing equipment. Besides, the institute also has an impressive placement record and is visited by eminent PSUs like IOCL, BHEL, BPCL including others. The college dean is strict about the rules and requires all students to adhere to the proper rules of conduct. The faculty shortage, which was in talks for quite some time, has also been addressed. Taking note of all the points it is clearly evident that the campus of IIT Bhuvaneswar is quite good and provides a conducive environment for studies as well as recreation.
The campus at IIT Bhubaneswar is spread over 936 acres of land in Arugul which is about 30 km from the main city of Bhubaneswar, The permanent campus was functional from 2015. The campus has a world of its own and is situated under the foothills of Barunei Hills. The environment inside the campus is ideal for studies and socio-cultural activities as it is away from the hustle bustle of city life. There is segregation between the academic area and the residential area inside the campus.
The one aspect that makes the education in IIT Bhubaneswar stand out is the concept of schools instead of departments; each school has a building devoted to itself in the academic area, for eg. There is the school of electrical sciences, the school of basic sciences, the school of infrastructure and the school mechanical sciences. Apart from all the schools, a lab complex exists which houses all the basic lab facilities and classes for all the common courses.
Moreover, the school of infrastructure and mechanical sciences have two workshops dedicated to them. On the residential front there are two hostels inside the campus namely MHR 'Mahanadi Hall of Residence' (for male students) and SHR(Subarnarekha Hall of Residence) (for female students), there are a couple of more hostels which are being constructed and are about to be completed. The sports facilties provided by the campus include a gym, a basketball court, and a racing track (400m), a playground and basic facilties for all the sports. Then there is the community centre which is constantly being used by the socio cultural and the technical societies.
Along with the faculty quarters for the faculty to live in, there are the guest houses for the guest faculties and delegates to live in along with the visiting parents and there is a 24*7 dispensary which is available too in case of a medical emergency.
All in all the campus provides a great environment for the students to learn, moreover, the winds from the Barunei hills help them relax.
Campus life in IIT Bhubaneswar is great. Discussed below are a few prospects of the campus life in IIT Bhubaneswar
My brother studied there and he shared his experiences in Kuttanad Campus (2nd campus) Firstly, he used to buy drinking water. He was in his second year and the monsoon was at its peak. All the roadways to the island (Pulincunno) were blocked hence there was no water supply at all. Secondly, The strong coffee they provided is much better than the tea. And Lastly, the local KSRTC buses won’t wait even for a second if they’re late. He and his two other friends loved to take a ride to Changanassery, via the village route.
It was indeed a scenic route. They liked the route so much that if they were nearby a bus stand and coincidently a bus drove past, they used to run and catch it. They did this more than a dozen times, that too in their first year.
