Which is better, NIT Srinagar or NIT Agartala, placement-wise?

Srinagar is ranked 67th by NIRF in all engineering colleges category. Agartala, situated in the north-east is ranked 70th among engineering colleges by NIRF. JEE Mains is the qualifying exam for both these institutions. The fee structure is also similar and is around 1.40 lakhs as the first-year fees.

NIT Srinagar:

  • NIT Srinagar placement cell has consistently managed to invite top companies to their placement drives every year.
  • In the year 2019, more than 240 students from NIT Srinagar were placed in various companies

  • The recruiters consisted of MNCs and domestic giants like Punj Lloyd, DRDO, Power Grid, Wipro, Kirloskar Oils, Tata Motors, NTPC, Patel Engineering, American Insurance, Tata Power, Mu Sigma, etc.

  • CSE and IT branch had 100% placements while all other branches had approximately 70% placement on average.

  • highest CTC package was INR 27 LPA and it was for an IT student. The average CTC package came at around INR 9.5 LPA.

NIT Agartala:

NIT Srinagar CSE is the better option. The NIT tag will offer you many advantages. You will get better exposure and placement. Students of the CSE branch receive multiple placement offers. NIT Srinagar placements have an average package of around INR 13 LPA for the circuital branches like CSE, ECE, etc. 

You won’t face any disturbances on the campus. The environment on campus is ideal for studies. The hostel accommodation is good and the whole campus is wifi enabled.

Which is better, ECE in JMI or IT in NIT Srinagar?

Both courses are entirely different, so it all depends on you and in which field you are more interested in. Both the institutes are well-reputed and offer similar facilities. If you are not particularly interested in a specific branch, you should choose IT. 

  • As a branch, IT has less workload as compared to ECE. The course curriculum and syllabus are also easier for IT. 
  • IT offers more placement opportunities as compared to ECE. NIT Srinagar has a good placement record for IT and CSE and other branches as well.
  • According to the student reviews, the faculties for IT at NIT Srinagar are great.
  • In the final year, the institute offers coaching for GATE from at least 3-4 months before the examination.
  • You will need to complete at least 3-4 projects during your degree.

National Institute of Technology, Mizoram (NITM) is an autonomous college affiliated to the All Indian Council for Technical Education. National Institute of Technology, Srinagar (NITS) is approved by AICTE and recognized by UGC. National Institute of Technology (NIT), Srinagar is one of the oldest NITs. It has been ranked 67 by NIRF,2020. It has received grade A by NAAC.

Course Information:

  • The M.Tech in civil engineering from the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Srinagar is a 2-year post-graduation full-time course.

  • The fees for the course are around 2 lakhs(approximately).

  • The course provides specialization in structural and geotechnical engineering, transportation engineering, water resource engineering, and planning.

NIT Srinagar is better than JMI. It offers better placements. Branches like CS and EC have a placement average of around 80-90%. Most students get placed in the IT sector. The highest CTC received by the students is around INR 20 LPA. 

Samsung, IBM, Paytm, etc. are some of the major recruiters that visit the NIT Srinagar placements.

  • The Srinagar campus is known for the scenic beauty and pleasant climate. The campus is huge and is spread over 100 acres. Many facilities are provided on campus like a cafeteria, hostel, high-speed wifi, spacious classrooms, library, etc.
