If I am getting COEP CS or mechanical and ICT Mumbai chemical, which one I should choose?

You should choose COEP CS. The placement record for the branch is excellent. If you maintain good grades for four years and have the required skills, getting good placement opportunities won’t be difficult. 

TCS, Accenture, Infosys, etc. are some of the major recruiters that recruit CS students through campus placements. The highlights of COEP placements show the average CTC for CSE to be around INR 6.5 LPA. While the highest CTC goes up to INR 30 LPA.

College of Engineering Pune (COEP) is one of the known universities for engineering in India. Admission process for both CS and mechanical engineering are based on the rank of JEE mains or entrance test conducted by state followed by interview and counselling.

ICT Mumbai holds 18th rank among the best universities of India by NIRF ranking. Similarly, as COEP, admission for chemical engineering in ICT Mumbai is based on entrance test and the rank of JEE mains followed by counselling.

Tabulated below is the difference between CS Or mechanical engineering in COEP and chemical engineering in ICT Mumbai.

  • The admissions process in both the Institutes for both the courses is the same and fully online.

  • Admissions are based on Maharashtra common entrance test called (MHT CET) and if seats still left vacant then admissions will take place on the rank of JEE mains.

  • With this students should also have at least 50% in 12th board with required subjects.

Placements:

College of Engineering Pune:

  • Companies like ACCENTURE, Cummins, Deloitte, IBM, Infosys, TATA ELXSI, TCS, Wipro, ZS associates, etc visit the campus every year for good placements.

  • The average salary offered up to 7.8 lakhs and the highest salary is up to 20 lakhs.

ICT Mumbai:

  • Companies like Asian Paints, BASF India, Black & Veatch, Cipla, DSM SOFT, Evalueserve, Exxon, Galaxy Surfactants, HONEYWELL, etc visit the campus every year.

  • The average salary offered to students of chemical engineering graduate from this Institute is of 4.8 lakhs and the highest package is up to 15 lakhs.

Facilities:

College of Engineering Pune:

Infrastructure and facilities of the university are really good.

  • Hospital, sports ground, Wi-Fi facility, well-equipped labs and all necessary facilities are available on campus.

  • Teachers are well-qualified, knowledgeable and very helpful.

ICT Mumbai:

  • All necessary facilities like labs, hostel facilities, sports facilities, etc are available on campus.

  • Teachers are experienced and helpful. Most of them are PhD holders.

Both the Institutes are good and have a similar fee structure but if we compare regarding placements and average salary then COEP is better than ICT, Mumbai. Otherwise, both have equally good facilities and a friendly environment. As for which institute you should choose, you should decide that based on your choice of course.
