- There are no general science courses like engineering drawing, mechanics, chemistry, etc in IIIT Allahabad, as present in the syllabus of NITs in the first year of the course. Students get to learn core electronics subjects from the 1st year itself.
- There are several reviews which state that the placement of ECE at IIIT Allahabad is not good, which is true to some extent. But, this is the case with every other college. Even at MNNIT, the average package for computer science is above ?8 LPA, but for ECE it is even lesser than ?6 LPA.
- Most students from ECE are placed in finance, consulting, and IT companies, due to a lack of core companies visiting the campus for placement. Even at IITs, NITs, DTU/NSIT, etc the scenario for placement of ECE students is more or less the same.
