There are no such placement opportunities after completing an executive MBA. The Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM Calcutta) offers a Post Graduate Program for Executives in Visionary Leadership in Manufacturing (PGPEX-VLM). This program is designed to meet the current demand for leaders in the manufacturing industry who have a combination of technical and managerial skills and are able to navigate the challenges presented by businesses that rely heavily on information and aim to achieve the "Triple Bottom Line".
On the other hand, the Rajiv Gandhi Indian Institute of Management Shillong (IIM Shillong) has partnered with the Ocean University China (OUC) in Qingdao to offer a Post Graduate Program for Executives in Managing Business in India and China (PGPEx-MBIC). This program provides general management education in the context of emerging economies, focusing on the host countries of India and China, and aims to prepare leaders to conduct business in these economies uniquely.
The placement opportunities for an Executive MBA at IIM Indore or In fact any other IIM are very limited. They depend on the batch itself and may be good or bad depending on the current batch profile and expectations. Moreover, people don’t pursue EMBA to get placed in a high salary package. They already have a job with a high package. What they are looking for is an enhancement of their managerial skills and the IIM tag.
So I will not recommend you leave your high-paying job and pursue EMBA especially if you are looking for a better CTC. Not even other B Schools will get you a high package right off the bat. But if you are still adamant about pursuing the program you may take a study leave I suggest.
An MBA helps you in the long run and not instantly. You should be willing to take the risk for maximum results.
EPGP course at IIM Kozhikode helps IT professionals learn important facets of business such as finance, marketing, HR, organizational behavior, operations, and strategy.
IIM Kozhikode is the best for EPGP. Of the many benefits offered by this course, the diverse knowledge and brand value of IIM top the list.
My cousin is an IIMK EPGP alumni. Today she is an IT professional with 14 years of experience. According to her some major pros and cons of this course are as follows:
Pros-
Surreal campus
Excellent professors for finance, marketing, and operations.
Students from diverse backgrounds make it a more appealing experience.
Workshop at the end of the year helps in practical lessons.
Second year offers the option of electives. So you can choose different topics from different streams based on your interests and career.
Cons: The only con is that campus visits are as rare as 4 in 2 years.
The EPGP course at IIM Kozhikode is extremely beneficial for an IT professional’s career growth.
The EPGP Programme was established in the year 2002 at IIM Indore and has produced a great number of alumni since then. The graduated alumni have been performing remarkably well in their fields. The track record set by them is exceptional.
The EPGP course content at IIM Indore is compressed, precise and the learning process is highly based on real-life developments and circumstances. It is one of the most effective ways of learning.
If you have a non-IT background experience of 5-7 years, then you are highly likely to land a good placement. A salary package ranges up to 25 LPA.
Even a candidate with 7 years and above experience would gain no instant financial advancement except some knowledge and academic qualification. You should not hope to acquire the benefits of this degree steadily. The IIM tag is kind of a long-term investment and would help you in getting through the corporate sectors with its name itself.
The screening or selection process for EPGP at IIM Bangalore for applications in which they evaluate your application, GMAT scores, academics, career progression, career/extracurricular achievements, diversity, and knowledge that you can bring to class.
If you pass this, you will be invited for a face-to-face or Skype interview with a panel consisting of someone from the program office and alums who will check if you have the right credentials and expectations from and about the program.
One of my friends at ISB claims that the main reason for ISB Hyderabad to hold the top position in the executive program over the years. It is its core competency rather than just competing with institutes like IIMs and XLRI, who lead in the 2-year MBA and PGDM programs.
The points below provide a brief overview of the success story of ISB Hyderabad.
Although ISB charges twice as much as IIMs at present times, it has been the first choice for working professionals for the reasons stated above. The core competency of ISB discussed above makes it the clear winner in executive education, which the IIMs and XLRI cannot defeat.
