Ques. Should I take mechanical engineering in PEC, Punjab engineering college or Thapar University?

● Top Answer By Admin on 10 Aug 21

Ans. One of my friends had the same options a few years back and chose Mechanical at PEC. Here are the reasons why. The batch size of Thapar is huge. There are almost 500 seats in the Computer Branch. The closing cutoff is lower for Thapar University. Chandigarh will offer more exposure in comparison to Patiala. You will have more opportunities to prepare for higher studies like M.Tech or MBA. PEC is quite reputed among students. It is even considered better than some NITs. PEC has a better placement record as compared to Thapar. Here are the recent placement highlights of the institutes. Parameters Thapar University PEC No of companies participated 264 145 Top recruiters Microsoft, IBM, Wipro Microsoft, RBS, Goldman Sachs Highest package offered INR 43 LPA INR 42 LPA Average package offered INR 8 LPA INR 10 LPA Hope this helps you in making the decision.Read more

Ques. Which is better, electronics at PEC Chandigarh or electrical/mechanical in DTU?

● Top Answer By Debdeep Majumder on 29 Jul 21

Ans. Make yourself clear that in which field you want to work. You should choose your choice of branch, irrespective of the college. Both PEC and DTU are decent colleges so the professors in both the colleges will be well-qualified and experienced. Electronics, Mechanical, Electrical being the circulate branches there are also ample of core companies visiting the campuses as well. College ranking: NIRF 2020 ranked PEC Chandigarh at 68 and DTU at 36 for B.Tech. So, here you can see that DTU has an upper edge in comparison to PEC. College placement: The highest package offered in both the colleges is almost the same but the main difference lies in the average package as well as the number of core companies. The average CTC offered at PEC is 10 LPA while it is 7 LPA for DTU. Technical and cultural clubs: In PEC, the clubs are very active and perform well both in the cultural as well as the technical domain. You will get to learn a lot about the various Technical and cultural aspects there. Location: Chandigarh has the upper edge to Delhi as their system is very well organized and clean with less population DTU has a number of opportunities available and it is a better option when it comes to exposure and city life. However, if you are looking for a peaceful environment, PEC Chandigarh would be the best choice for you.Read more

Ques. Among IIIT Jabalpur and PEC Chandigarh, which is better? Why?

● Top Answer By Keshav Jindal on 28 Jul 21

Ans. IIT Bhubaneshwar has come into existence recently and it is a new and young institute. It needs to develop more to grow and attain the reputation like other well stable institutes. It has to improve in terms of infrastructure, faculty, and opportunities. A few points on IIT Kharagpur before taking a decision: IIT Kharagpur is a well stable and maintained institute and has everything that you wish in an institute. It has the best faculty, reputation, and infrastructure. You can choose IIT Kharagpur if you want to spend your college years on a good campus with all the facilities as it is heaven for four years. If you are not getting the branch of your interest, there is an option to change the branch. But you must attain a higher GPA in your first semester, however, it is not an assured way and is risky. Compared with Industrial System Engineering at IIT Kharagpur, EE at IIT Bhubaneshwar would be a better option as the academics and job opportunities are better. You will receive great placement offers in IIT Bhubaneshwar also. It ends up at the branch you are interested in and then the institute. Both these branches are like North and south.Read more

Ques. Where should I take admission,NIT KKR or PEC Chandigarh?

● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 20 Jul 21

Ans. Let us answer this question considering the different parameters: Distance: If you belong from the state of Haryana, then it should not be an issue as both are equally accessible. Brand Name: PEC is a fantastic brand, but NIT Kukrukshetra has higher acceptability among the general Scholars. Diversity: Without a doubt, KKR has a lot more diversity. Although we do not place a high value on this aspect in India, it does play an important role in your personal development. Placement: Both the colleges have a decent placement record and you ought to check the exact stats given on their respective official college sites. The location is a crucial issue to consider in this situation. Chandigarh has a lot more to offer than KKR in this city. Chandigarh is a livelier city whereas Kurukshetra is a small city and NIT is located on the outskirts of town, thus your life is primarily confined to the college campus. There are many more possibilities for higher education preparation in Chandigarh. There you will witness a large number of students traveling to Chandigarh on weekends to prepare for higher education. If I were in your situation, the only reason I would choose PEC is because of its proximity. However, consider all of the advantages and disadvantages and decide what is best for you in the long run.Read more
