Category A – Direct entry

• +2/equivalent based on the merit of physically fit candidates.
• The University provides reservation of seats as per Government of India rules.
• There will be a personal interview at the regional center prior to the selection of candidates. The Regional Director, in consultation with the Programme Coordinator, will conduct the interview.
• Candidates will be selected on the basis of personal interviews, during which a candidate will be judged on the following:

Appearance, ability to communicate, attitude, mental alertness, and general awareness. Each of these shall carry a maximum of 10 marks. The candidate is required to secure at least 25 out of 50 to qualify.

Category B – Sponsored Admission

The sponsor is allowed to nominate employees, who have passed +2/equivalent, from their retail organization. The sponsor will submit a letter on the company’s letterhead issued by a competent authority along with an individual application form of the candidate nominated with the program fee through a Demand Draft drawn in favor of IGNOU payable at New Delhi.
Candidates will deposit fees only after selection.

Registration fee of Rs 300/- (Non-refundable) is to be paid at the time of admission in addition to the program fee.

At the UG level, IGNOU provides a B.A., B.Com, and a B.Sc. under various specializations along with a BBA degree in Retail. All of these programs are offered for a duration of three years.

Admission to all the above-mentioned courses is done on the basis of the merit secured in the 10+2 qualifying exam. Admission to the IGNOU courses usually commences in the month of February.
