My friend recently graduated from NIT Jamshedpur. Here is her review. Location: The campus is located in Adityapur, surrounded by industries. It is a bit away from Tatanagar Railway Station. Since Jamshedpur doesn’t have an airport the best way to reach the campus is from Ranchi via NH-33. Infrastructure-wise: Both the hostels and the computer centers are revamped. The main buildings of the campus are still under further development but are expected to be in maintenance soon. However, the mega hostels, known as J & K, are an enhanced sight of the campus. Academics The quality of professors or the methodology of their teaching is quite not up to the mark. Few professors of the institute somewhat still follow the old pedagogy and are sometimes not cooperative. On contrary, the newly appointed Ad-hoc faculties are supportive and are willing to guide students. Students of the institute perform well in competitive examinations. Many made it to IITs, IIMs, or various international institutes as well. The Central Workshop and laboratories, substantially Fluid, Thermodynamics, and Metallurgical are not quite well maintained. Placement Reports: A few major recruiting companies are (in respective branches) as follows. One of my friends is studying at NIT Jamshedpur so I will give you insight into the institute’s branch. The placement of NIT Jamshedpur is good with 100% placement.
