This is one of the stories that my friend from NIT Jamshedpur shared with me. It is his friend’s story. Name of the Company: ZS Associates It is a dream analytics company for many. Place: Jadavpur University (Pool Campus) Let us refer to the person as ‘X’. 13 candidates were made to sit in the room after the final interview round. Except for X, all the 12 students’ names were called one after the other and were given the company’s coffee mugs and pens. X asked the placement coordinator about his selection to which he said “sorry, you got rejected by the company.” This broke his heart. He had studied hard for the company’s placement and got rejected at the last round. He was about to leave the place when he heard HR call out his name from behind. He told him that he was on the waiting list and the VP of the company will take his interview which will be a telephonic interview the next day morning. This gave X a little hope. He had to leave for Jamshedpur, so he booked an auto. But, on the way, he got the call which was from the VP. He immediately stopped the auto and looked for a quiet place. He went to the “Ganga Ghat” which was seemingly quiet. But, it seemed crows did not like it. The VP was furious about this and told X to find a calm place and call back. Sadly, there was no such place around that X was aware of. He made a call to his friend. She informed him about her PG but, it was a girls PG and boys were not allowed inside. Since he had no other option, they thought of giving it a shot. He rushed to the PG. At the entrance, they checked for the security guard who was fortunately not around. He went inside his friends room and was done with his interview after an hour. He booked an auto to return to the station. He received a call while in the auto. It was from ZS Associates. As soon as he received the call, he heard “Congratulations, you are selected.” While the lady was sorry for not being able to give him the coffee mug and pen, he was thankful to her for the good news.

Best thing about NIT JAMSHEDPUR is its placement statistics. 98 percent placement ratio. With overall 14.7 lpa package. In ECE and CSE branch 100 percent placement. The highest placement is 80 lpa. Best thing is that core branches and lower branches also has phenomenal placement stats.

Internships Opportunities:

Intership opportunity is less. In the 2022-2023 session, only 3 students got intership with good salaries. Many others also getting but with less salary 8-10k per month. But you can find summer intership here.

Life of NIT Jamshedpur

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placement from 4 th year. Almost all companies visited our campus including Tata motors, TATA powers, TATA Steel, Atlassian, Oracle, Ola, Uber, Flipkart, etc. The highest package is 85 lakhs offered by Atlassian. The average package for the CSE branch is 27 lakhs, for ECE 20 lakhs, for Electrical it is 16 laks for mechanical it is 10 lakhs. Almost all students in our college get placed. My plan is to join DRDO after the completion of my degree.

Internships Opportunities:

30 percent of students from our mechanical engineering branch get an internship with an average stipend of 40000 as a trainee engineer in companies like TATA motors, TATA Steel, etc. Some of our ongoing projects like drones that can paint high-rise structures of industries etc.

Let's talk about the software sector, our cse department is one of the highest package-grabbing departments in the whole of India, and for this reason only, many people from foreign countries come to study at NIT JAMSHEDPUR. Considering placement opportunities it is the best NIT one can get at a decent rank in jee mains. Students get to sit in placement from the seventh semester. Many top companies such as Amazon, Flipkart, TATA Steel, Oracle, Accenture, etc visit here. The highest placement is 75 lakhs and the average placement is 14.2 lakhs, Around 97 per cent get placed. I want to join a top software developer company after my btech degree.

A good number of internships are offered here. Last year 200+ students got internships in different companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Tata, Flipkart, Trident etc. Stipends offers vary from 20k to 1.5 lakh. Placement Experience:

From the beginning of the 5th semester, students are eligible for internship opportunities, and after the 6th-semester students are eligible for placement. Companies like Tata, Wipro, reliance corporation, Goldman sac, Flipkart, Amazon, etc. visit our campus and give good packages to students. The highest and average package offered was 72.5 LPA and 14.7 LPA respectively. The overall placement of the institute was 97.2 percent. After getting my degree I will look for my placement and possible start-up if I get interested.

Internships Opportunities:

Companies like Wipro, and Tata provide internship opportunities to students. They were nurtured in real working environments and were provided a brief introduction to their role and work.
