IIT Bombay M.S Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or science or a Master's degree in science.
  • It must be noted that the eligibility criterion will vary from institute to institute.
  • A valid GATE (GATE/ CSIR/ JRF/ NET/ COGJET/other equivalent exams) score is required for admission to the MS (Research) program in the case of regular candidates.
  • The requirement of a GATE (GATE/ CSIR/ JRF/ NET/ COGJET/other equivalent exams in case of Cognitive Science program) score is waived for the B.Tech/B.S (Four Years) graduates from IITs with a minimum overall CPI of 6.5 and a minimum CPI of 8.0 in the last two years in B.Tech/B.S.

For General/ EWS/ OBC

  • The students should have passed the degree with a minimum of 60% aggregate of marks.
  • It is also specified as the first class by the institutes.
  • The minimum CGPA/ CPI in the qualifying degree should be 6.0/ 10

For SC/ ST/ PWD

  • A minimum of 55% of the qualifying degree 
  • A minimum of 5.5/ 10 CGPA/ CPI in the qualifying degree. If the scale is not (0-10), the qualifying degree should have a CGPA/ CPI of 5.6.

IIT Bombay M.S Selection Criteria

IIT Bombay MS Admission 2023

Admission to the IIT Bombay MS program is based on GATE exam scores obtained by the candidate. The candidates are shortlisted for the written test and interview round on the basis of GATE rank.

For candidates applying with a B.Tech degree (8.00 CGPA) from an IIT are exempted from the GATE examination and they are directly appearing for the written test and PI round.

Procedure to Apply for IIT Bombay MS

  • Visit the official website and register yourself there.
  • When you register you get a login id and password with the help of a login id and password. You will be directed to the application form.
  • In the form, you need to enter your GATE score. The GATE score will decide your eligibility on the portal. 
  • Also, enter the GATE paper code and registration number. 
  • You need to provide your valid email id. 

Note- in case you are an IIT B.tech candidate, you don’t need to enter a GATE score.

You can opt for Non-GATE/ IIT B.Tech option after login. 

IIT Bombay MS in CSE Cutoff 20223 (Expected)

IIT Bombay releases MS in CSE cutoff for the candidates who apply via GATE exam scores. There is no cutoff released for the students admitted through the written test conducted by the concerned department. At the end of phase-1 of the 2022 placement drive, a total of 1388 selections were made. Students received 248 pre-placement offers & 202 of those were accepted. A total of 66 international placement offers were made from different countries like the USA, Japan, UAE, Singapore, Netherlands, Hong Kong & Taiwan. The highest international salary rose to more than INR 2.1 CPA & the highest domestic salary rose to 1.8 CPA. The average salary stood at INR 22.7 LPA.
