Hostel Facilities:

Since its Mumbai to hostels are quite small, but they too have all the basic facilities which a student needs. We have double occupancy till 3rd year and single occupancy in 4th year A room contains 2 table, 2 bed, 2 almirah, 1 or 2 fan/s, and 2 windows.

Campus Life:

Life is amazing. Everything to enjoy. Too many clubs, too many opportunities, too many things. IITB has all kinds of sports A huge library in which you will rarely pick a book or 2. The classroom, library and reading hall are totally air-conditioned.

Hostel Facilities:

Hostel facilities are really good like in first year you'll get a room and a room partner with 10 more wingies who will stay in same wing with you. You'll create a great memory with them, also hostel room and facilities are really nice, you can complain regarding anything and it will be resolved very quickly, since council is there for every hostel who take care of every thing from maintenance to food. Meal is really nice meand you'll lot of variety in every meal, and nothing got repeated in a week. There is no such need to register for Hostel and all, you'll be pre-informed and it is being alloted to everyone, then if you don't want to live and can opt out. Rooms are really affordable like you have to pay only 11000 for whole semester for hostel room and every facilities. There is no such facilities of nearby PG but you can leave in guest if your parent came to visit you want to stay in campus.

Campus Life:

There is numerous fest which happens here, the biggest one is MOOD INDIGO, TECHFEST, E-SUMMIT, SOCIAL FEST, KALA DARSHAN, PAF, DHAROHAR, ANNPROD, STYLE UP, etc. all are conducted in there fix time mostly MOOD INDIGO and TECHFEST happen in December, others in march or Feb. rest happen in march. The classroom has all the facilities from benches to projector including ACs. Coming to sports activities you'll have to choose between NS0 (sports), NCC, and NSS (social work) first to do one of them and it is compulsory in NSO you can choose your sports and can go forward and do whatever you want in that sports, other than that you'll get a coach in all game with Inter IIT competition and other inter hostel GCs. there are numerous social groups, and clubs like Abhyuday, MoodIndigi, Techfest, E-Cell, cultural club and departmental club.

Hostel Facilities:

Hostels are inside the campus, everything is just a 10 minutes walk from your room. Hostels have a cot, a chair, a table, an internet LAN connection (high-speed up to 1gbps), a light, a fan, an almirah, a window, a cloth hanging area, and other basic amenities inside the room. The washrooms are common, clean and well-maintained. Mess is available in every hostel on the ground floor itself, and the food served is decent and healthy. Moreover, you have all the options veg./no veg/ generally available at anyone's home. The charge is also set by govt. and hence is pretty affordable. Your basic meal structure (4 times meal, Breakfast, lunch, snacks evening, dinner with milk) is covered in? 40,000 for an entire year. There is also a cloth washing facility in every hostel and is free. Hostels have in-house indoor games and limited outdoor games areas and instruments as well, for eg: Foosball, Table tennis, badminton, football ground, etc.

World-class Olympic standard sports facilities for every sport, basketball, swimming, football, hockey, squash, badminton, tennis, table tennis, gym, kho kho, etc. We have 3 big auditoriums at student dispense to be used for all kinds of events, and a separate student activity centre (SAC) where all the clubs and student bodies have dedicated rooms for an internal purpose, hence cultural exist.

We are provided a shared room in the first year and a single room in the second year. All the hostels have provision stores, stationery, laundry, sports facilities, and a gym. The food quality at the mess is good and the variety on the menu is also satisfactory.

Being the part of IIT Bombay ecosystem is one of the best campus life one can get during an MBA. Fests are going on throughout the year on campus ranging from the Avenues, MoodIndigo, Techfest, E-Conclave, E-Summit, and many more. We have great infrastructure facilities available not just in terms of classrooms and library but also sports facilities, hostels, and other recreational activities. There are clubs and teams for all the domains which regularly conduct events and seminars all year long which helps in gaining live industry insights. The startup ecosystem at IIT Bombay is very vast with access to incubators, industry experts, professors, research facilities, etc. Being in Mumbai is also an added advantage where one has a lot of options outside the campus as well.

Ques. Which is the best hostel in IIT Bombay and why?

● Top Answer By Priyanka Das on 18 Mar 23

My brother had the pleasure of staying at hostels 9, 16, and now 13 in chronological order. However, he claimed not one hostel had the complete facilities one expects in a hostel. I have described each hostel in a few pointers  Hostel 9 Extremely small room difficult for even 2 people to share The best food in the entire institute is served in this hostel It has many facilities like a pool, a small footer field, basketball court, table tennis and makes your leisure time great  Hostel 16 This hostel has some of the best rooms in the entire institute. The rooms are double occupancy but can easily be shared by more people. If you are lucky enough to be allotted the 6th floor or above, you can get a spectacular view of Hiranandani. The food is not very good Hostel 13 The room is usually for PG or DD students The rooms are single occupancy and are decked with decent facilities  The food in the Mess is neither too good nor too bad. The hostel has a wide range of extracurricular facilities. There is a TV room that can accommodate around 70–80 people.  This hostel is most coveted because of the spectacular view of the Powai lake and the Hiranandani it offers....Read more

As a hosteller of IIT Bombay, you can avail the following facilities Rooms: The newly built H16/H15 has amazing facilities and big rooms. But the older hostels are just average Network: You will have 24*7 access to Wi-Fi in your hostel and throughout the campus. Sports: There are a number of sports facilities for sports freaks at IIT Bombay like dancing, swimming, football, basketball, running, gym, and much more.  Mood Indigo: The most glittering aspect of IIT Bombay is probably the amazing 4-day festival; Mood Indigo, Asia's 4th largest fest. In addition, there is a 3-day tech fest as well Library: You will have access to the IITB library, where you can borrow books and access e-resources. Food: You will have access to a mess (canteen) in your hostel, where you can get food at a subsidized rate. IIT Bombay also has some night canteens to satisfy your midnight cravings. Campus: The campus is lush green and the overall ambiance is refreshing and surreal. There are additional facilities like stationery shops or photostats etc....Read more

Ques. How are the hostel rooms at IIT Bombay?

● Top Answer By Pratik Gandhi on 23 Mar 23

IIT Bombay has 3 kinds of hostel facilities for undergrads Fresher year hostel - Hostel 15-16: In the rooms of these hostels, the kitchens are too small and you just have your own bare space. Some rooms have an additional free space in your room while others have more than enough space for you and your roommate. Senior Hostel (for the rest male undergraduates): The rooms are a bit better than Fresher hostels with an additional store room. However, this store room is very small in most cases. There is an additional space apart from your own room and your roommates. Senior Hostel (for the rest female undergrads): Girls' hostel rooms have the maximum space and the best facilities.  At the end of the day, the size of your hostel room hardly matters in your college life. You get habitual after a few months and it becomes the smallest issue....Read more
