Remarks :

My admission process was pretty smooth the course requires 98%ile in CAT for open category students. The CAT form can be filled out at https://iimcat.ac.in. The admission process link for the SJMSOM MBA program can be found on the official website. The admission is perfect.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course is well aligned with the current industry standards. There are 116 students and details regarding faculties and batch profiles can be found on the official website. All faculties are graduated from top institutes and research topics covering a variety of industries.

Internships Opportunities :

All information regarding placement and internships can be found on the annual placement reports which are accessible on the official website of SJMSOM. The report includes the details of companies, average CTC, etc.

Placement Experience :

The placement team is responsible to bring companies on campus and students are given chance to apply to the companies of their choice. More than 20 companies have visited and more than 120 offers were made.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee structure can be found on the official website. One can take scholarship loans from banks present on campus. Scholarships are given to students who have a CGPA of more than 8 in Semester 1. Internship details can be found in the summer internship report which can be downloaded from the website.

Campus Life :

Being in SJMSOM has its biggest perk to experiencing the department fests such as sports and cultural fest and also the main IITB fests like Mood, indigo, and Tech fest. Students also have the access to all the facilities at IITB.

Hostel Facilities :

Students in their first year are given co-ed hostels and in the 2nd year given a personal room. Hostels have all the necessary facilities and amenities. The mess fees and hostel fees can be found on the IIT Bombay website.

Hostel Fee : INR 27000 per year

Interview Experience :

There was a direct personal interview and no group discussion as the process took during the pandemic. The interview had 3 member panel with 2 professors and 1 alumni. The interview tested both management and b.tech knowledge.

SJMSOM - IIT Bombay review

Placement Experience:

In the initial months of the 1st semester, we go through the summer placement process where 100% batch gets placed within a few days and the average stipend for this batch was 3.03 Lakh. The special thing about SJMSOM is that 50-60% of the batch gets PPO from the summer internships itself and thus for the finals only half of the batch competes among each other. The average package for the Final Placement is 28.88 LPA and the highest package is 54 LPA with 100% placement. Almost all top companies from FMCG to Investment Banking participate in the placement process and there are ample opportunities for the students to get their dream roles.

Placement Experience:

From the fourth semester onwards students get eligible to sit for final placements as their summer internship gets over. Total of 132 recruiters visited the campus for 2022 placements. The average package is 12.28 LPA and the highest package is of 22.50 LPA. A wide variety of companies hire students of K J Somaiya. These range from top companies such as Nestle, and Salesforce to start-ups. K J is known for achieving 99% placement every year.
