Remarks :

For MBA from SJMSOM, I applied for the CAT exam first. It was for the year 2021 and scored well to get a call from the institute. After getting the call, there was an online interview selection process and post that final selection list was released.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I have enjoyed the curriculum. The methodology is case-based discussion and presentations. The subjects are very interesting and easy to comprehend if lectures are attended regularly. The faculty is very experienced and shares good cases with the batch.

Class Size : 120Course Fees : INR 800000 per year

Internships Opportunities :

Several companies come for summer internships at the start of the course. The reports can be seen on the college website for more details. The projects are ongoing and result oriented. A lot of learning happens in a short period of time.

Placement Experience :

The placement record has been impeccable and is seen improving year after year. The company profile is interesting. The period during the placements gets hectic and the process happens really fast. Need time for its preparation.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Fees were last hiked for the 2024 batch and overall it is nearly 1600000 for the whole course including the hostel. Food expense is extra and Mumbai life coats a little extra too. The scholarship is merit-based and backs provide loans as financial assistance for the institute.

Campus Life :

The campus is famous for its greenery. The facilities are all top-grade. Most hostels have sports courts. E-vehicle is present for in-campus transportation. The weather is good for most time of the year.

Hostel Facilities :

The hostels are great. The traveling is a little difficult but manageable. The food menu changes every week. The hostels have competitions and also celebrate special days with evening parties and a special menu.

Hostel Fee : INR 200000 per year

Interview Experience :

The interview experience was interesting. It was short and precise. The topic included past work experiences, undergraduate topics, and a general discussion on why I want to do MBA and what are my interests.

SJMSOM - IIT Bombay review

Placement Experience:

In the initial months of the 1st semester, we go through the summer placement process where 100% batch gets placed within a few days and the average stipend for this batch was 3.03 Lakh. The special thing about SJMSOM is that 50-60% of the batch gets PPO from the summer internships itself and thus for the finals only half of the batch competes among each other. The average package for the Final Placement is 28.88 LPA and the highest package is 54 LPA with 100% placement. Almost all top companies from FMCG to Investment Banking participate in the placement process and there are ample opportunities for the students to get their dream roles.

The placement for the senior batch was a bit ok. The package offered was above ten lakhs. But if I talk about the internship opportunities for our batch it is not up to the mark. The roles offered are not that attractive.

Life at NITIE

Course Curriculum Overview:

From the fourth semester onwards students get eligible to sit for final placements as their summer internship gets over. Total of 132 recruiters visited the campus for 2022 placements. The average package is 12.28 LPA and the highest package is of 22.50 LPA. A wide variety of companies hire students of K J Somaiya.
