Ques. What are the ATKT rules of Mumbai University 2021 BA?

● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 16 Oct 21

Ans. The rules for ATKT at Mumbai University are simple and easy to follow.  If you have more than 2 KT in each semester, then you will not be promoted to the next year. You will have to drop a year from college and appear for the exams again. Keep a close eye on the notifications related to the exam and fill the form accordingly. If you have 2 or less KT in each semester, then you will be promoted to the next year. To appear for 3rd year examination, you must clear either your 1st or 2nd year. You would not be allowed to continue your term in the third year if you fail in any of the subjects of the first year and second year (cross ATKT). Read more

Ques. What would be a better option for a current CS student at Mumbai University a Masters from a decent IIT or an MS abroad in the US?

● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 16 Oct 21

Ans. The decision of pursuing Masters from any university in the country or the US depends on the basis of your reasoning. Following are a few fields that might have interested you in pursuing master’s. Research If you are highly interested in the research field then it is suggested to look for the best professor.  Examine the websites of universities around the globe thoroughly, visit profiles of such professors working in the same field as you, and might as well take a look at their publications.  Through this you would be able to evaluate their quality of work and the frequency of their publications would give you an idea about their active roles in this field.  It would be even better if you could consult with their students.  Proper guidance is required to receive benefits in pursuing your interest. Job If your ultimate goal is to land a job after your PG, then you should know that it is kind of a mix here.  Your field of Masters, your affluence, the risks intake on your part would be the deciding factors.  In the majority of the engineering fields, it is difficult to land a job worth your master’s degree in India.  If you are successful in securing admissions to an esteemed university in the US then you would have an edge over acquiring a good job.  The majority of the IT companies have their headquarters situated in Silicon Valley and the quality of work is exceptional too.  You would receive exposure to various other cultures and diverse professional practices. There are certain drawbacks to this as well. Master’s from US can be on the expensive side and more of a risk. If you are planning to pursue the degree after a loan then you should rethink your choices. Paying out a hefty loan in India from an Indian salary will severely strain your finances. There are ways to work around this issue. But, it's still a risk.Read more

Ques. What are the best sites to get solved question papers Mumbai University?

● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 16 Oct 21

Ans. As far as the facts are concerned there are currently no websites known for providing solved Mumbai University’s question papers.  There is a booklet named “easy solutions” for the students to refer to. But the students prefer not to use them for the solutions as the solutions were incomplete or rather wrong.  The book is accessible a month or two before the semester exams begin. It consists of answers to the question papers of two previous years including KT papers. It is advisable to brush up your knowledge by solving those questions yourself instead of referring to the given solutions. Apart from the sites, there are books with easy solutions, kt280, and such for you to utilize. Guides such as TechMax in Engineering consist of the previous years’ questions too. Read more

Ques. What are ATKT rules for Mumbai University engineering course?

● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 16 Oct 21

Ans. Mumbai University is an esteemed university providing exceptional courses. One of my friends graduated from Mumbai University. According to him, there are some things that are worth mentioning. Generally, in Mumbai University, in your first year, you can carry up to 5 ATKTs in the second year.  If you have ATKTs exceeding 5 then you would be required to take a drop for a year until you have cleared your previous ATKTs.  If your ATKTs are less than 5 then proceeding to the next year would not be much of a problem.  However, there is a certain rule presiding over the engineering course. If you have even 1 ATKT, as per the rule, you would not be allowed to carry 1st year ATKT in your 3rd year.  You will not be allowed to carry your second year’s ATKT in the Fourth / Final Year even though it is only 1 ATKT. The students are required to clear their Second Year’s ATKT by the end of their Third Year, that is, by their Sixth Semester.Read more

Ques. Which is better Pune University or Mumbai University?

● Top Answer By Aaditya Hari Nair on 13 Oct 21

Ans. Pune University will be more beneficial as it is a better institute than Mumbai University.  It has a great reputation especially in the outer world as it is one of the oldest universities of India. So, when you opt to take admission in foreign universities for your post-graduation then you will get more recognition and importance. It is also better in terms of course curriculum and providing resources to the students compared to Mumbai University.  The management system in Mumbai University is not good and its policies are very confusing. There are also many cases of corruption at Mumbai University.  Hence, choosing Pune University will be a much better option than choosing Mumbai University especially if you have plans to pursue post-graduation from foreign universities because this university has a great reputation which will help you to get more recognition and exposure and the faculty and academics of this university are excellent too. Read more

                        Remarks :

Good aspects are that the fees structure is less and also books are available for free. Bu the worst thing is that they never give any updates on time regarding any time of exam. Just because of correspondence study i choose this college to be attended.

                        Hello Aakanksha

The selection procedure adopted by Mumbai University for Post Graduate admissions is as follows:

                        • If your Bachelor’s degree is in the same course in which you are seeking admission, with 6 papers in that subject, you will be admitted on the basis of merit.
                        • If it is 3 papers, you will have to appear for an Interview.
                        • If you have done your Bachelor’s in a subject other than the one you are seeking admission in, you will be selected on the basis of a written test consisting of 2 papers in the subject in which you desire to register for your M.A. degree. Paper 1 will be an essay paper in the subject, and Paper 2 shall be a paper to test your general acquaintance with the subject.
