Dislike

  • There was no college internship required as it was a distance education course with the University of Mumbai, Santacruz.
  • Just one company had come to the department for placement; they had the worst experience ever.
  • The fees are very low compared to any other colleges in Mumbai.
  • Infrastructure is the worst. There are no sports facilities or grounds. The library is small and has limited books. There is no wifi for students. They dont even clean the college on a regular basis; it is cleaned only on the first day of college. Hygiene is a significant issue.
  • Not at all good, it is the worst part of studying outside. There is no good food, no proper rooms for students, and ragging is also one reason why it is not good

Placement Experience:

Best placements in Maharashtra are offered at VJTI ( second to IITB ofc). We become eligible for campus internships in the 5th sem and for campus placements, in the 7th sem. Most people get a Pre-placement offer directly after their internships. Specifically speaking of CS and IT, all 100% are placed this year. The rest of the placements are still going on, with an overall 80% already placed.

Remarks:

This is a govt autonomous college, so the admission process is strictly through CAP rounds. No management quota. The college accepts only MHT-CET scores, JEE not valid for admission in VJTI. You generally need to have at least 99.8+ percentile for CS-IT branch ( open category).

Course Curriculum Overview:

As it was my dream to work in the automobile sector that's why I choose automobile engineering. For every 10 students we have 1 faculty member, As 60 batch of students have 6 teachers through the subjects. The faculty in Pillai college of engineering holds an MTech or Ph.D. in their respective subject each semester we have 2 unit texts and a final examination with 4 weeks of unit tests held and The faculty helps us to work on our mistakes elaborating on the topics with experience and out of the texts.

Remarks:

I opted for automobile engineering at Pillai college of engineering and the process online is very much easy for the staff who attended us at Pillai college it was recommended by my sister as she was also in the same college.

Placement Experience:

The placement is not decent but u can get placed if u had good skills. Their is not many company which is visiting, their may me some 4 or 5 company Majorly which come give offer's. Only 50% students get placed.

Remarks:

The admission process was very smooth and college was cooperative too. I have take admission through jee mains based through (AIQ), cutoff is not very high u can easily get admission if u are scoring above 80 percentile in jee mains. You must be having 65% in ur 12th board for the course admission. You can find application form and dates in their website, u can easily availed reservation benefits if u require documents with proof, and caste validity certificate too. As such their is no space of improvement all is fine.

Companies like Infosys, Wipro, Capgemini etc. have visited. A very good amount of students have got placements through college. My plans after my degree are to have a placement or job and think about a master's later on.

Remarks:

There are entrance exams like jee or cet. Application forms were provided online. Dates were mentioned during the admission process for filling out the forms of colleges and universities. Improvement scan be made but don't have any complaint about the process.

Placement Experience:

The placements start from 6th and 7th semester. Placement opportunities are provided by the college and many companies are invited to the college to hire students with excellent skills and report. The top companies that visit are JP Morgan and Chase and Morgan Stanley and Amazon. The highest package offered last year was 35LPA and average is 11LPA. 99.9 percent of students get placed. I am planning to go for MS after my degree.

Remarks:

I took the MHT-CET examination to take admission into the college. The cutoff for our branch was 97%ile. I got admission into TFWS (Tution fee waiver scheme) category. So the tuition fee for me is paid by the government. The admission process was smooth and easy for me.
